  1. Okay here is my reference. For the record I jumped 7 feet and so is my character. Jump.mov
  2. Yes I did keep both my feet together. Very tempting not to. Here's the updated vid from the side. side_jump.mov
  3. Okay I did a video of myself jumping, with arms folded in front. No I am not posting it here!!! Anyway, I used it for reference(not rotoscope) and here is what I have been working on all day. This is actually about the 12th take and the one that came out the best. Edited: I extended the ease into and out of the jump. I didn't feel the first one showed enough weight. jump.mov jump.mov
  4. I'm thinking that the head needs to delay coming up with the shoulders at the end. Thoughts?
  5. Here's my next go at it. jump.mov
  6. I have started another thread concerning the gray box. I never could figure out the reason for it so I swapped over to the 32bit version.
  7. This is for the 32bit version. I don't think the 64bit version has the option to use direct x
  8. This is the next lesson Robcat is teaching. Here is my first rough draft. This is just a first blocking pass. Refing to come. Feedback welcome. For learning purposes this was animated on 3's and is only 18 frames in length. The arms are hidden so I can concentrate on body and weight mechanics. jump.mov
  9. WOW! Thanks Robcat. I didn't know that was there.
  10. Installed AM and I swapped to DirectX. Then I went to software render instead of hardware. Now when I launch I get ERROR at the top of the screen. I go to options and attempt to try to get hardware back but the graphics tab isn't even showing up. I can go to OpenGL but I get the mystery gray box when trying to select anything. I uninstalled and reinstalled but no good. I'm stumped. Any ideas how to fix this?
  11. No touch screen here. Just the old faithful mouse. So far things are working pretty good.
  12. Just updated to windows 8...don't know why. I guess I'm a OS junkie LOL. Will let everyone know how it works with AM.
  13. I've been watching a lot of older movies lately. Its a study on camera, lighting, and most importantly acting. The latest has been Fried Green Tomatoes! The best scene I think is near the end where Jessica Tandy's character points out Ruth's grave site. There is very little dialogue between the characters, but the acting is superb. Little has to be said I think. The actresses convey so much with just facial acting. If anyone gets a chance go and check out that small part. Really great scene.
  14. Select the patch that is black and hit the "F" key. It helps if you have show normals on.
  15. Looking good. Throw the porcelien material on it to help smooth your splines out. Keep going! I'll be popping in to see this one unfold.
  16. Interesting. It would seem to me (I could be wrong on this one) that virtual cores would be slower than actual cores. As with hyperthreading is just the illusion of having physical hardware. So in essence you would have one processor working on distributing work to 4 virtual cores. That to me would seem slower. But like I said...I could be wrong.... I run an AMD 8 core processor that screams through renders. Haven't tested it with Netrender though.
  17. As you can see from this latest render she has changed quite a bit. The look is getting closer to what I envisioned and I can't wait to start on her body.
  18. She continues! I have the basic concept sketch that I want so I am tweaking away on the head! Haven't even started the body yet. But here she is so far!
  19. I'm still in! Just waiting for the next segment. Or did i miss something
  20. She continues. She has also been a real pain and I'm still not sure this is how I want her to look. Opinions? Of course this isn't even 5% complete and if I continue I think I may be able to get her there.
  21. I have never been happy with my old original Cleo model so I started from scratch. She will make a brief appearance in the trailer so it is key that she be completed. Unfortunatly I am at work and only have a few hours to work. This is what I have so far and I will update as I continue her.
  22. They are quick renders so now lighting. I'm thinking of adding some gray in there to help. The textures are not final.
  23. Thanks Rodeny. Yes. Lighting is something I have been considering heavily and reading up on. I think for the trailer I may have Gravedigger carry a lantern to give a bit of orange/yellow glow to contrast the gray enviro.
  24. So after looking at my Gravedigger model, wondering how I can make him better, it occured to me he doesn't look dead! So I changed the face texture a bit and removed the eyes to see what he would look like as a skeleton sort of character.
