  4. I started over last month on a model that I started in June of last year. I quit working on it in July of 2007 but recently I wanted to create a small animation and decided he would be the star. So I started rigging the character with the poseable rig and it has taken me three tries to figure out the model itself was the problem. So I rebuilt the chest and shoulders and then worked on the head, reduced splines and now I am asking for critiques once again on the look. Steve
  5. i have gone through the process and I am at the final step. When do I reset all the compensates? After exporting the model and before deletion of the install poses? Steve

    STEP 6

    The eyelid installation looks different than the last tutorial because the individual eyelid controls were added (along with a few other eye tweaks). When you unhide the eye INSTALL bones, you will see all of the eye bones, including the eyelid installation bones. You can hide the eyelid bones using the hiding Poses that are found in the "upper_eyelids", "lower_eyelids" and "eyelid_corners" folders in the "Step 6/eye_install" folder. That would leave you with the eye "geom" bones exposed...you can use the Poses in the "Step 6/eye_install" main folder to position the eye bones, then, unhide the eyelid bones to position them. As soon as I get the next update released, I'll put together an updated installation tutorial while I work on a personal project...I've been trying to get to both for way too long. Hope that helps, Steve. Thanks David, I tried that tonight in fact the eyelids would hide all but one. I could never get the eye install bones to unhide. I am unzipping and trying to import my action into the freshunrigged model Steve

    STEP 6

    I am on step 6 and when I unhide the eye install bones they do not show up. Infact the eyelid bones show up. Then when I hide them all but one install bone hides. I tried going to the bones listing and unhiding the install bones but they do not show up in the action. Any thoughts Steve
  8. Finally had a chance to start on the rig. I am using the posable rig and things have gone very smoothly throught step three. Thanks Mark and David Steve
  9. I am starting back on a character that I stopped last summer. Here is where I left off. The only thing I added was the new posable rig. So as I go I will update the process of installing the rig Steve

  16. With this new character I wanted to have him in street clothes and then i the superhero outfit. Has any one done a pose slider to transform clothing from one state to another? Steve
  17. Starting to put some color and looking at skin color One thing I have noticed v 14 beta 5, is that everywhere I have a hook the rendered patches are black at the corners. Has anyone else noticed this or have I modeled something wrong? The normals are facing correctly. Steve

  19. Rusty I thought the arm look a little off. So I pulled and rounded out the forearm that is all. Good catch. Steve
  20. Rusty I will send you a picture when I get home. Yes the arms are shorter, but for you I have lengthen the arms. The reason they appeared shorter was the forearm was rounded closer to the elbow. So after pulling the thickness out the arms look more into porportions. I got him at the local art supply store. Micheals or Hobby Lobby or national chain should have one. Steve
  21. Rusty I still have my art book that I dig out to see porportions and of course I have my ever faithful drawing man. Steve
  22. Ok here is a straight on shot of the character. The legs have been pulled back by 15% and the head I reworked the nose as it was too small. but I am on to the ears now. The hands are to be larger as the demo the hands will be a key part. Steve
  23. Actually the camera is at a perspective so, (I used this to send the creases) I will upload the correct one. Also I was following Marvels Comic book guideline to porportions. So I will agree about the legs but they are usually about 1.25 their normal size in comic books and I actually increased the head .25 from the rotoscopes I had drawn. I will upload the correct one later Steve
