  1. Thanks David! All of these characters plus a couple of more are going into a short I am doing called Cupid's Sick Day. I have to create two more main characters. I have the basic story down and now working on story boarding the plot. Steve Edit Got the ears on last night
  2. Thanks Robert! I had not even thought of separating the settings from the hands and arms. I will give that a try. Steve
  3. Face completed and ready for hands and feet. Will try something new with hands Steve
  4. Very nice! She looks great. What about the clothing- are you going to use dynamics or part of the rig? Steve
  5. Here is the next character in the story line.
  6. Thanks for the reply. I pulled out the video that Will Sutton did. I have been able to apply decals his way without any problems. Steve
  7. Thought I would upload a sss test. The color is not excatly what I want. The darker color in the fingers has me concerned. How do you remove the darker tones such as this?
  8. Thanks Mark for the quick response. I will keep trying tonight. Steve
  9. Finished the body and got his clogs on. Working on clothing him and hair. Steve
  10. I can get it to work in 15d but not 15e. Steve
  11. I am still having difficulties with decals. I know there was a thread earlier concerning the corruption when a decal is placed on the model. Can someone direct me to that thread or tell me what to do? The decals when placed on the model appear fine, but when rendered they are stretched or pixelated. Steve
  12. Mark I am trying to get hair on my new characters. Did you make a skull cap or use the mesh of the character to place the hair? Did you groom him in an action or on the model? Steve
  13. New pic of the body in place with the head on the body. Steve
  14. Thanks guys. I have finished the head and working on the body. Should have an up date shorlty. Steve
  15. I got the ears in and now clean up on the face and ready for the body. I am going dress him business causal. May have some questions on textures. I still can not decal an object correctly without the decal being corrupted. Steve
  16. Yes the red arrow is pointing to a three point patch. There is a spline that goes behind/in front of the 5 point and there is a 4 patch hidden behind the nostril. I learned this from a tutorial from Jim Talbot I think. The Clothes were put on in both action and model. When I finish the weighting of this character I will dive more into the cloth simulation. I will keep you posted. I have learned more from Vern and his rig with the stage. Steve
  17. Here are the 3/4 and front of the finished character Steve
  18. Decided to rework the chin and cheek area along with the jowl area. Just need to clean up and remove some unneeded splines. I will have the ears on tonight and will work on the hair setup and then to the body. Here are the front and side shots before the ears Steve
  19. Clothes are seperate items. I added the chin and it looks good I will post an update later Steve
  20. The rig is installed and now I am weighting the character. Took a break from him and started a new one. Here is the first render of him with the first run of the splines. Steve
  21. David I like the interface. Wow you have put a lot of work into this and it shows. Steve
  22. David sent me the new rig a couple of weeks ago and within a day I had the rig in place and sent it to David to review. Once he sent it back the character is moving. I am tweaking the mesh now to help smooth out the rough edges and I think this is the hardest part of any rig. (cleanup) I still have quite a few things left to do, with face poses etc, but I used the squetch rig on one project and installed and adjusted the compensates and loved the rig. I have been waiting quietly for the tutorails so I wont have to bother David for help. While I was installing the rig David sent me an update on one pose. It was the easiest thing I have done with the rig. Simply delete the bad one and copied in the new one. What I loved most about the rig is all the poses are setup and waiting for you to adjust your model to the rig. I will continue to use the rig as it gives you the ability to go as complex as you want or as simple as you want. Steve
  23. Mark What shader do use for the skin? Steve
  24. My message got deleted in another area, so I will try here with a different approach. I have been having problems with decals, stamps and even rotoscopes. I first decaled the image with a large decal white image. I then decaled the model with the main decal and it works with out problem now. So I loaded 3d painter. It would not work with a painting of the main decal. After I loaded a projection map and then placed the decal it worked and has stayed in place. Not sure but I am happy once again. Steve
