just 2 ships i built back in version 12 their not that complicated ship one has 540 patches ship two has 1940 which is only on screen for 3 secs out of the 6 secs that the whole video is. 1 pass is taking roughly 20 mins to do. and no i have nothing running in the background

i got something that looks like an animation but got a problem... with the current settings you have for the prj. for a 6 secs video to render it says the average time for it to finish is somewhere around 545 hours.... i dont think i can let my computer run for that long on a single render... is there a faster way to get it to render

I can try but I'm completely horrid at animating

i mean is this a contest? is this part of a bigger movie going on or is this just the collection of the scene put into one thing?
-
so what is this exactly? you just make a short film and send it in using just this scene?

ok so my friend comes up to me with a drawing he made in paint tells me this is how i want my dream house to look like ( which is just a blueprint top down view) he really wanted to draw it like a sketch but his drawing skills are less than par. so i told him i would take it up and give him a better idea of what he wanted it to look like this is what i have so far any crits or ideas on how to make it look cleaner would be helpful. also making doors and windows ideas would be of great help.

ok the rerender finished but for some reason it was going to take 17 hours to finish. so i had to stop it to strip it down to a decal and 1 light and this was the result. not sure why the renders are taking so long maybe you guys have any idea plus i think i need a better way to upload these videos, original file sizes are around 150MB for 160x120 video size! flybye2.mov

i think this is basicly what he was talking about with skylights and multi passing first one is with only 2 passes and 8 light setup (9 secs per frame) second one is with 9 passes (3x3 softing on) and 25 light setup (36 secs per frame) each light is a bulb with 50 rays cast for shadows NO_AO__AO.mov NO_AO__AOb.mov
