  1. well i think its been about 5 or 7 years since i last tried at character animation. so i thought i would give it a go again when i saw this basic character model in the sharing page. last time i tried, i did a jump animation. so thought it would be good to try the same motion. i kept it pretty simple with the motions. can you who have been animating a while critique it for me and maybe give me a few pointers as to what I'm doing right or wrong. please be honest jump_test.mov Thanks
  2. not sure if its too late but finally got around to recording my umm "commentary" commentary_Jason_Hess.wma
  3. Ill record something tomorrow. Even though mine is only like 10 seconds long. I will make a 3 hour commentary. Hehe.
  4. I know only 5 mind left in the day but happy Easter. Hope yours was very joyest.
  5. I'm going to blow it up to 10x20ft and put it on the side of my house
  6. i think this is still for that ranma movie
  7. as far as i can see your lighting is too bright on certain areas. try using keig lights just on the dancers. also as rodney said bring the camera in. it will give you better clarity of the dancers and what they are performing. and it will give you a better composition. usually wider shots like that are done for the use of many dancers, with a zoom out.
  8. i like the stuff. very interesting. little lost but that just means i don't understand the premise of the post. I'm an artist as well and a musician so i understand where hes coming from. but i think he needs more comprehensive of his message
  9. The software is still on the table. Got to figure out the format i want to go with because I had some idea for it but don't want to release anything yet because there might he some money involved and maybe a design patent. The couch is actually a modified version of a lazy-boy couch sofa set. The update Version actually reclines which ill be posting next week in the freebies section. The gym is an actual full size gym with weight sets dumbbells and other equipment. These are still drafts nowhere near done. I got a year to finish this project.
  10. ill never understand how you people make characters like that. just amazing work
  11. I'm running on a pretty old machine since my new machine is down. This is on a 2 ghz amd 64. Average time for a 800x600 is about 2 hours.
  12. Haven't figured the colors yet so ill try other stuff and the pluming haven't brought up yet.
  13. its radiosity. OK so ill take off all spec settings. As for the counter top how would I lessen the bleed from the walls.
  14. heres a render of the bathroom. can anyone tell me why i have so much saturation in the counter top and doors and the bed looks like plastic wrap render time was 1:35:50
  15. the right side of that part of the basement is the water pump and water purification system. it needed its own entrance way since he didn't want it in the bathroom.
  16. not sure if there's going to be a bar but hey the new person moving is a drinker so who knows lol and yes i placed the lights as of where he is asking the electrician to installing them. 1 in every room and 3 in the main room (pool area, living room, gym area) total of 6 lights. I've been working on the renders as i keep adding more decorations. since i want to get this as close as possible to what the finish product is going to be. this is the top view of the basement.
  17. the couch is not my choice this is all my friends idea. his house his choices. i just build what he tells what he wants it to look like
  18. OK so, for the past 3 months ive been working on this project for a friend of mine he is going to be building an apartment in his basement and came to me as a cheaper alternative to a architect. first half was taking measurements (got about 6 pages worth), then i had to get the base drawings down (took me weeks!). now im finally up to building the model to scale. theres 2 more steps before i complete this project. next step is to get full size renders of the finished basement. then is to design a program for a virtual walkthru of the basement. right now im doing the test renders of the finished basement. wanted to get some opinions and ideas on the best way to render this. this is the best renders as of right now. i am using radiosity to get the most realistic renders possible these are the settings im using. the camera is just using multipass 25
  19. man that must have been a lot of work... good job!
  20. hey rob was that video i made good enough quality?
  21. i have been known to laugh and run away like that on certain occasions
  22. Wow you actually thought it was cool. I wonder what you say if I tried to make them turn or something. I was going to add partical effects to the engines but that would add 10 hours of rendering.
  23. For some reason the v16 doesn't render right Nd everything comes out black or it has a solid color to it when its suppose to have texture.
  24. well after a few tries at getting the render time down, i went with basicly the lowest form of rendering Multipass=1 no A/O everything else the same. it rendered in 2 hours and after some editing and sound effects this is what the outcome was so ... Enjoy! thejobe_busstop2.mov
  25. just 2 ships i built back in version 12 their not that complicated ship one has 540 patches ship two has 1940 which is only on screen for 3 secs out of the 6 secs that the whole video is. 1 pass is taking roughly 20 mins to do. and no i have nothing running in the background
