perhaps a metallic cross, shiny chrome and reflective, on a black backround with glowing, almost on fire edges, like it just came out of the metal shaping thing (kiln?)
-
I wasn't sure if this fits in radiosity or showcase, so i'm putting it in both (better than neither right?) The pop-bot and that amazing render Brian Prince did, inspired me to try some radiosity of my own. I don't think it's as good as theirs . . . but it's mine 32 lights for the sun, 15000 photons, max samples, 7hrs 40 min. Odd shadow thing i noticed with the shadow of the tree
-
make it a nail, that is stuck right into the center of the cross

WOW, that looks really really good so far! keep it up, if theres anything i can do to help ill do it . . . or i should say, i will try to do it *eager for more* Ben

I like both of them. I think that the one where only one part of the mouth is more . . . non animation user freindly. Maybe you could have him heat up that part of his mout, because we all know that metal is much more plyable when its hot, or maybe have another section of the jaw, that has to become unrusted, so it can be moved

LOL, thats about all i did when i first got animation master!! I always tried to recreate matrix scenes and effects . . . i still am . . . thats what set me down the road to where i am now (about another 100 miles in the never ending highway)

Make a whole bunch of spheres, put them around the middle of the object. Make a new material, with two attributes, make one sine with 5 octaves, scale it to 1500% in all axiss (srry I'm not the best at grammer) then make one attribute of the sine 100 percent transparency. Make the second attribute a gradient, one attribute of the gradient 100 percent transparency. Make the edge threshold about -20 or 20 (depending which attribute you set to 100). Apply the material to the model of sphears, it should look like a cloud, tweak your model so there are no random circles of cloud floating about. Create a new action, as the action goes through (5 seconds just to test) distort your model slightly, and translate/rotate your material. I would suggest if your model is about 400 cm wide like mine, you tranlate between 45-75 in all axiss (again srry for grammer) and rotate some in all axiss (srry yet again!) but the majority of the roation, in the way the wind is blowing and movment of the cloud. That should get you off to a good start. Hope this helps anyone who wants it

Don't meta objects have the ability to melt and such though? or is that somthing else. Meta objects would be good for somthing growing out of another object. Like if somone could grow another one of themselves, and it came right out of there back or somthing. Or to demonstraigh cell division and such. Fluid effects would be awesome though

-
ah yes . . . i see that too (or is it to?) By the cup pencil holder thing OTHER THAN THAT looks good, the S could use some more flamboyant things . . . or differant lighting, its got definate syle though
-
lol, looks real good. Wow, he must be pretty big if the toaster is that tiny He could make those 10 foot long subs . . . that would be like a super sandwhich By the way i am now a "master" hehe . . . i got about 10 years before i can really be called an apprentice
-
Looks great! I remember when i posted my last image contest entry . . . Woah did i get blasted for lousy form or somthing . . . cant wait for more! by the way good luck!
-
Looking great! I wonder though, did you model the inside of the building, and the whole scene, or just enough for a still? The image kind of reminds me of Doom 3, how it takes place on a reasearch facility on mars. Maybe if you made the whole scene, you could make a monster excaping or somthin . . . that would be cool
-
I think it would be cool, if he made sandwiches . . . I wish i had a robot to make me sandwiches. . .
-
Holy crap . . . That looks really good! The patch count must be over 30,000 . . . am i right. If my robot is just under 26.000 that must be ATLEAST that much are we going to see any animation?
-
Holy crap, you and those images are awesome!!!!!!! they look really . . . real, and good. If the dynamics were added, I think those could pass for photos Again just great! Ben

looks nice, maybe a rustic gold material to make it seem it came right out of the 1800s (If they had them) . . . did you use sweeper . . . i love that plug-in By the way . . . what does a sextant do? Does it mesure angles or somthing, or star locations . . .
