I must say I'm baffled. Just a few days ago someone said they didn't get a serial number so I went to the store to buy a new sub I didn't even need yet to try it out and it worked exactly as it was supposed to. It is easy to overlook the serial number but it absolutely got sent to me like it was supposed to. Instantly! How is this not working? I screencammed it..

btw, the floor tiles are an algorithmic material I made to emulate the floor of the kitchen in Ratatouille...

Further development of our live Answer Time discussion Saturday... these use a displacement map to create the surface detail. Whoops!

I've not heard of anything yet. I'm still on Windows 10.

Here is a turn animated...

It took a fair amount of experimenting to get a mix of R G B that still summed to approximately white light. This is what I came up with...

Thanks guys! It was just the quickest of quick vases... I've posted a PRJ in the first post if anyone wants to play with it.

58 minutes! 23 minutes! (I had the computer on "power saving" before ) That can probably be refined by altering some settings. Here is a version that sweeps the color of the light and the index of refraction of the glass over the course of a multi-pass render to simulate the prismatic effect of the glass

Experiment with caustics... Update: Version of the above project if you want to try: CutGlass22 new dome.prj CutGlass22.pre Load the PRJ got to Render to File in Render to File Settings, use "Load a Preset" to load the above .pre file alter the file save location to somewhere on your hard drive press OK

If a 2D image file like JPG or PNG will work... how about rendering out cross sections of your model? A:M can export a DXF but there seems to be some difference between a DXF that defines 3D shapes and a DXF that makes 2D images for a vector program and I did not have success importing an A:M DXF into a program like Adobe Illustrator. Welcome back to A:M!

I had not heard of CriCut before this. So it's like a 2D cutter? Hmmm. What sort of files does it take as input?

Hey Gerald... These "Help Files" are no longer valid, right? And they're not PDF files, right? If they don't work, they probably shouldn't be on that page anymore?

All of those threads point to a single file URL that is the most recently released installer To browse for older versions you will need an FTP client and go to ftp.hash.com/pub/updates Here is a specific URL for the last release of v17 https://www.hash.com/ftp/pub/updates/windows/v17/AM_64BIT.exe
-
Steve Shelton tells me that the "data.zip" file can be found at ftp://ftp.hash.com/pub/misc/ Most browsers no longer support that FTP URL so you should use an FTP client like Filezilla. However, Steve also tells me that Internet Explorer can still do FTP. Put IE in your Windows 10 search bar to find and start Internet Explorer. Thanks, Steve!

How do you get the decal from the original OBJ to survive onto the new MDL?
-
Links to ftp sites no longer work from common browsers so I'll put these here directly for now. If they are already on the forum, someone tell me where. The Art of Animation:Master (new user tutorials) TAoAM.pdf Animation:Master Technical Reference TECHREF.pdf

The A:M installer includes a basic set of models and assets but there's another larger set users are supposed to download. What is the location for that?
-
Ohhhhh... I thought you meant that after you added the green tiles, the red cloth wouldn't simulate anymore.
-
By default, object aren't affected by forces. They need to have some dynamic characteristic, like Simcloth or a Bullet constraint, added to them. You can add Bullet to multiple objects at once with RMB>Chor>Plugins>Wizards>Add Bullet constraints to multiple models. But I'm curious as to why the cloth doesn't work for you as it does for me.
-
When I loaded the PRJ and did Simulate Cloth, the cloth simulated like I would expect.
-
First , try reloading the PRJ and see if that works

Try changing the "Blend Method" of your walk action to "Add" or "Blend" The default is "Replace" Adding new animation after a walk cycle is still tricky, however.

A:M v.19 on Mac running OS 10.14 Mojave with AMD rx590
robcat2075 replied to cribbidaj's topic in A:M Rendering
I wonder which i9 that has. Those can have either 8 or 16 cores. Is it possible to un-update a Mac to a lower OS?
