  1. There's probably a clear reason something doesn't appear on a target list, but I'd need to see an example to see more.
  2. If anyone is having last minute glitches or holdups or other unexpected mysteries, contact me in a PM. We can figure out a solution or work around to get you back on track.
  3. Is this something you need to fix for an image contest entry?
  4. Entries are coming in already! Use these last few days to get your image wrapped up and in on September 22!
  5. That's a well-written strip and amusing comic, Mark!
  6. My next gambit would be to take all the materials off the object with the problem and then add them back, one by one, until the problem comes returns.
  7. A quick test on a vase gets me correct transparency results. -My first guess is that you have some sort of conflict of surface setting in Groups. -second guess... is SSS involved?
  8. Does anything happen over on the motor cycle side of the scene?
  9. I presume you really mean choosing a target for constraints. Choosing a bone to apply a constraint is done by selecting a bone, >New Constraint while in a Pose or (sometimes) an action or Chor
  10. We'll probably need to look at a specific example
  11. How about if you did the reflection portion as a separate pass without a mirror and composited it in? You'd flip the camera around and shoot it from the opposite angle. In compositing you could more easily play with the contrast and brightness of each element to get the right mix.
  12. After reading this, I got back to my project and... all the bones had changed to just colored line segments! I had tried SHIFT - 7 and it didn't seem to do anything, but now I find it's a toggle between regular appearance and simple line.
  13. And that's a SHIFT - 7 in German? Ouch. On the US keyboard it's not a shift character, it's right next to the period.
  14. Yes. I didn't even realize that was what I was seeing.
  15. I think it's a too-confusing arrangement of elements for the viewer to read what it is. I'm looking at it and i can't figure out what is where. So this is not a reflection scene?
  16. I don't know about the delay but I'll just say that the subscription plan won't leave you behind on updates.
  17. If I only had a... oh, wait, there's one now!
  18. It occurs to me that, scientifically speaking, Summer doesn't actually end until the 22nd. We don't want to exclude any valid Summer Memories! So, if your entry is done, it would be great to have it on the 18th but if you're running behind and just need to get over a few humps we can still sneak you in by the 22nd. I've seen some cool entries already and am looking forward to seeing more!
  19. Hi Edward! Do you mean Windows 7? Is it a CD-keyed version of A:M you are trying to install? Windows 7 doesn't support the CD key system anymore but there is a work-around you can find in this thread, post #26
  20. I'll note that there is also a photographic process for creating normal maps from real objects... Normal Map Photography It probably works best for matte white objects.
  21. That is wonderful! Low density mesh... high detail. Shader Map sounds like a useful tool. That figure reminds me of Rachmaninoff.
  22. When I look at old shows (and most movies) from the 60s they look very flat and dull. It's like they had given up trying. Television looks a lot different today. I think it had to. Flat and dull wasn't going to sell anymore. This article has broad level discussion of doing better lighting, for non-white skin tones and just to not look like 60s TV. Keeping ‘Insecure’ lit: HBO cinematographer Ava Berkofsky on properly lighting black faces "...the secret to making television resemble film is providing different levels of light to the scene. “[in sitcoms], everything is the same level of brightness. That’s what I’m trying to avoid,” she said. “The trick is keeping [light] off the walls."
  23. Like Jerry Lewis at his Labor Day telethon, my goal is always to have at least one more entry than last time. Last contest we had 13 entries, I'm hoping we get 14... or more!
  24. One week! One week! One week!
