Dhar, could you describe your project just a bit please? I'm basically lighting a room with walls, floor and ceiling. I believe my problems started and still persist after adding about six extra lights besides the standard three. How many lights do you have and in what conditions? Is it an inside or outside scene? Martin, how am I supposed to arrange lighting for a scene when additional lights seem to nullify existing lights? It seems very counterintuitive and counterproductive to have this happen only to be able to see the full effect of the light setup by doing a final render. So I wait for the final render, get the result, don't like the look, change a light setting and re-render just to see if the tweak has the effect I desire? If the tweak did not achieve the effect I wanted, do the whole thing all over? How many lights until AM decides it wants to shut some down? If this is the only way, lighting is definitely not my favorite subject.

Opening the chor again tonight, nothing changed. The key light was still not illuminating the scene unless I turned off the last added light. Out of frustration I hit "Light Default Models" several times under the keylight and all of a sudden, the scene came to light, er, I mean life, no light, well, anyway. Toggeling LDM and hitting the spacebar did the trick, although it should not have required a trick. With all these responses, I'm so glad I have myself to fall back on Eric

Starting with the basic three light setup, I began adding lights to my chor. At first, the additional lights did what they were supposed to do, but after about five or six additional lights, my keylight seemed to turn off with the other lights doing all the work. Turning off the last added light, turned the keylight back on. I figured the last light was somehow defective, so I deleted it and created a new one. The same thing happened, the keylight, although the chor said it was on, was actually not doing anything to light the scene. Another test confirmed this. Instead of deleting the last added light, I just turned it off in the chor and the keylight immediately went back to normal intensity. Turn the last added light back on and the keylight behaves just like I turned it off. It seems to me this is some kind of default behavior by AM? How can I add lights without having existing lights turn off? Thanks in advance. Eric

Very dynamic movements all around. Now that's a pig on a mission I don't want to run across! Got a little story to go along with that?

Glad to see you're picking up on this again. I doubt that there are any rotoscopes that line up perfectly on every seam. Well, at least not many. When I first ran into that challenge, I had twinges of guilt about using artistic license, but soon got over that as the model progressed. Just convince yourself that what you are modeling is the right way and that the rotoscopes are wrong

Looking really good Ken. Can't wait for the cape and textures. Will keep an eye on this thread.

Cool explosion David.

Nice modeling on that disk brake setup Jody!

Hey Ken: I was going to model Yoda too, but got too busy to start. Well, maybe I'll do an older rendition in the future. Say, Yoda's eyes look pretty nice, how did you model those? I tried modeling some eyes and they don't look very life like.

So you are taking a class at a college (which college?) that uses Animation Master in it's curriculum? What's the class called and what other programs if any are used in the class. Were you required to purchase AM for this class or was it provided by the instructor? Forgive me for my skepticism, but we've recently had some hoaxters post here that claimed to have made works in AM when it was just plagiarism. If everything is on the up and up, my hat's off to your instructor and yourself. Nicely done. Eric

Ok, let me get this straight - you just started using AM about a month and a half ago, did a really nice model on your first attempt, rigged it perfectly to do a run cycle on your first attempt, and even got some nice motion blur going at the same time without ever having done anything else in 3D? If I am understanding this correctly...well, if this is true, then I'm at a loss for words, truely. My only question is: How is this possible?

Good to have a post from you You're getting better as you go. That area looks very smooth. Looking forward to seeing more. Hope you don't burn out on this, Batman needs his ride

Try to think back on what changes you've made just prior to this freeze issue. Did you add some material, did you do a copy/flip/attach, what were you doing to the latest version of the model? If there hasn't been that much of a change between this version and the one before it, just revert to the previous one and try to duplicate what you did to make it freeze. Once you find the problem, send a problem report to Hash.com/reports and avoid doing whatever caused the freeze until it get's fixed by Hash. Naturally you should post your findings here.

Double click the object that has the poses in question in the Project Work Space PWS. In the properties window open the User Properties by clicking on it, then delete poses there.

I like the scale effect, displacement, right? The colors are a little crazy though

Don't take this too seriously, but I'm in a critiquing mood. 1. I'm not going to talk about the head, cause you're just starting on it. 2. Her pelvic area is too far spread apart - bring it together to the point of touching and you'll also decrease the hip area. 3. Her legs are way too long in proportion to her torso - on the other hand, maybe the torso just needs to be elongated, since her arms are very long too. Bottom line, find a frontal human anatomy pic for reference and go from there. 4. Her breasts look like two balls on her chest. Take a look at your own Turner reference - much smaller breasts and more naturally formed. Maybe decrese the area between them too. 5. The three areas that define the shape of the body, chest, waist, and hips, are not correctly proportioned. If you are going by the old 36/24/36, you get an hourglass figure, now look at your figure. 6. You can greatly improve on your model simply by getting your proportions right. You seem to be doing a good job modeling. 7. Did I mention the proportions are off? Ok, I've had my fun, now do with the critique what you will. Nice start though...

That's guaranteed. I'll be one for sure

Thank you lazz. I'm quite happy with the results so far.

The Sol System for the Extra II DVD

Very cool Jody!! I love stuff like that. Now all I have to do is model the Imperial Shuttle and we've got a movie -
Yup, mode set to "camera", but have never messes with alpha, so I assume it's set to default. Will check it later. To be honest, I'm really starting to believe that my computer, or AM for that matter, has a little gremlin running amok inside. Inexplicable things happen on my machine all the time, usually in AM. Just like the enivronment map material. I've used the same material on the S& before and got great renders, then it started with those artifacts. Then the fog Oh, well, now to prove Martin wrong and FINISH this project! But wait, I have this grand idea for a scene....

Ok, this is getting pretty good. Now I've got to read up about IBL. Matt, for some reason, when I changed the render settings to spit out a tga, the fog wouldn't render. I tried several times making sure fog is set, etc, but no go with tga and fog. As soon as I changed back to jpg output, the fog would render normally. What the heck??? Here's a render with the doors down.
