  1. Thanks Eric! I agree, and so did the fellow who's model this is. I'll be retexturing that soon, and seperately--it's not in this update. Btw, I would have easily paid a quarter for that Glad you asked! He's right here . Thanks for your comment! Here's an update, I'm having trouble deciding whether all of the armor should be the same color or mixed. At a 30,000 patch count, it's tough to accomplish much in a short amount of time. Lee
  2. Hey everybody, I know I have another topic that's still out so don't get too mad Well, I'm trying to wrap up everything that I've been involved in (hence the Star Wars models frenzy) and one of the many things on the list was texturing this fantastic model. Hang on Martin, 2_08 lighting is next For me, the goal of this project was to have a set of textures that matched the great quality of the model. This meant grabbing tons of photos and layering and layering in PS. It also meant tons of unwrapping in AM--of which a little has been done. I'm going to try to push my skills as far as they go for this one and prove to the world that AM is capable of anything...and have a little fun on the way Here's the first WIP of the front armor piece, tell me what you think! Thanks, Lee
  3. Thank you thank you thank you for that reference pic! Some things clicked in my head when I saw that--the only pictures of Jabba that I could find were always obscured by Leia in her "outfit". Ive tried to change some basic shape issues (mostly in the head)...tell me what you think Thanks also Ken and Geoff for your compliments! Lee
  4. Thanks Caleb! I like strombolli too Here's the textured version--as you can see, it was rushed...use a LOT of photo reference. This one was a lot of fun--each one of these models could be improved a whole lot, but rendering resolutions are low enough that they don't need to be. Thanks for the comments--Lee
  5. Thanks Ethan! Oh man, your right! I didn't even think about the size of his hands, I'll fix this right away. Thanks Matt! Thank Geoff! I'm a little busy at the moment, but if you have any specifics go ahead and PM me and I'll see if I can help you out! Here's Jabba, I think he looks like a frog too much in the face, any suggestions? Thanks everybody! -Lee
  6. ...uh...magic? I'm secretly a wizard...shhhhh. Thanks Jirard! Alright then, here's a WIP. In the end he'll have a lot less symmetry in the face. So far I've only done the major wrinkles, the rest will be added with decals. Lee
  7. Nice render Daniel! I like the composition. Mountains always seem steep and slippery to me and I think you've made this more exaggerated with the tilt in the camera. As far as lighting goes, I would add a backlight on PB's right side to seperate him more from the background--the moon maybe? Lee
  8. I love it Caleb! Is that a bump map on his chest? Great job--my vote is actually for the normal render Lee
  9. Here's an update on Big Gizz, I was told to make him more animal-like. I also gave him a nice head of modeled hair. Next up is Jabba!! Lee
  10. Thanks guys! Okay, here's where things get ugly Here's the same last render except with Jabba's number one man Bigg Gizz. He's big, he's ugly and he's a huge jerk. Tell me what you think--could I make any improvements? Thanks! Lee
  11. Thanks Caleb! You'll be able to do that soon, I promise I hope people aren't getting sick of this thread--I have to do these models so I assumed people wouldn't mind seeing. I think I'm keeping it interesting though. Here's a more updated Jix and now he's got a swoop bike! In the comics his bike is a flat grey with hints of specular highlights. Well...just because I was too lazy to give it a REAL texture job, I went with the extreme of this look--all chrome baby! If this was going to be for anything more high-res the model wouldn't even be close--but I think I may call this done. Enjoy! Lee
  12. Hey that looks great! I love the spunkiness! I could see this working great in animations. Good expression and attitude. I think that there's some center eyebrow definition that is hinted at that you could define a little more. Other wise, great job! I'll talk to you tomorrow Lee
  13. Thanks Muff! You should be in for some animation here pretty soon Yeah...Chewie would have been cool (but a nightmare at the same time) Caleb...who knows maybe the other guy will fall through We just might--his name has been popping up on all the right lists for it Here's the newest character, Jix. I'm really dissapointed with myself on this one. There was very little modeling done--it was all copy and pasted--but speed is what really counts on this project. I'll do the pretty stuff later He's a little too red and his eyebrows are out of control! I wouldn't mind some crits on this guy Anyone for Animating? Anyone for modeling? Anyone for Lee?
  14. This is sooo great! I love it! I just want to quit animation altogether after seeing something this great! You've truly taken it to the next level! Lee
  15. Thanks Caleb. Lol...right after you said this, I found out that I wouldn't be doing chewie. Theyr'e going to do him 2D The next character was just a generic monk based off of the first one--not a whole lot to show here-just a new head sculpt Next character is IG-88. I always thought he was the most goofy looking of all of the bounty hunters. I went for speed for sure on this one. Done in almost exactly 2 hours. 90% of the work was done with the lathe tool. 4,045 patches EDIT: Fixed his neck and armed him Lee
  16. Great Stuff Daniel! I see now, you had everything under control...I'll just leave you alone next time Thanks again--it looks great! Thanks Paul! Except for the textures on Indy, everything is mine. I don't even want to remember how long I spent on that. It was very rushed though...as you can very clearly see Whoa! Is it 29:30 already?! Sometimes time just goes by like crazy! I played through FOA tons of times too! You always seem to pick up something new--like talking to all of those snobby people in Monte Carlo or just playing through the different paths. Yes...and we're not trying to get huge publicity just yet. I really don't want Uncle Georgey to come and shut us down Thanks for the response people--I'll get crackin' on those next characters Lee
  17. Great work Daniel! You already noticed all of the things that I saw. Is there anyway to make the walk cycle start in that pose that I sent you? Thanks again! That looks great!--good level of creepiness lol...I wish you were able to help too . Indy and the Fate of Atlantis?--that's only one of my favorite games EVER! This is a little off topic, but I made a few years ago (it's bad) just because I loved the game so much. The game itself is based off of my favorite Star Wars story Shadows of the Empire and is the brainchild of a great guy in Italy named Davide. He's done about 90% of the backgrounds (over 100 matte paintings in the style of the one above), so it's my job to do the sprites. Well the offer is certainly open if you ever get the chance. Lee
  18. Great work! I love how stylish your work is! I thought you said this was spline-heavy? I think it all looks great--maybe the nose could be cut down a little bit (spline wise-not plastic surgery ) Great stuff! Lee
  19. Thanks Caleb and Paul for the compliments! I'm glad you like them! Yep. Well, Star Wars concept art by Ralph McQuarrie An adventure game Thanks Ethan! You get the grand prize...which is...um to know what these models are for. Thanks for thinking about animating though. You're way too talented for this kind of a project anyway But...if you ever get a hankerin' for some walk cycles let me know! I have the next couple of characters (Leia, Chewie, IG-88)on my plate. I'll probably get started today. Lee
  20. Wow! That last render looks fantastic! I love the style that you have captured here! What's the insignia on his chest? I have a feeling it's somthing funny Lee
  21. Thanks a lot Caleb! You're already waaay good at modeling, it'll just be another year or two before you pass me up at texturing And thank you Chris for making my ego so big that we had to make a new door to get me out of the house! I'm glad that I've inspired you to remake old porky! I hope that you post him when you think he is ready! Keep practicing spline work--speed modeling is the best (and most fun). New character: A slightly rude B'omarr Monk with a lighting/environment test: And a close-up Sorry, this one wasn't too exciting Animators? Any interest? Walk cycles? Lee? My name is? Question Mark?
  22. Thanks Daniel! Lol...that's a problem for George Lucas to BS his way through, not me Here's the latest character--he'll only be seen from the waist-up (to avoid being too risque )Textures are Darktrees Leebo: Lee
  23. Hey! Great job! It has a good likeness! I like the battle-scars on it. If I could suggest one thing--it would be that the handle be more square instead of round. Keep up the good work! Lee
  24. Thanks Caleb and Largento! Here's the textured version--because the character is minor and will be seen from a distance--I don't really need too much detail. It's sad, really it would have been fun to go all out. Here he is! Lee
  25. Hey again, Here's the new update on the little fella, all modeling is done- Here's a wire He's been the most fun so far! Now it's on to texturing Lee
