  1. How does it look in 15j+? (I assume by newest you meant 16 BETA 3) love how it's looking!
  2. I'll say it again - terrific idea and very well executed!
  3. Were you able to try anything suggested above? here Maybe it wasn't clear? (ie click advanced, then change the resolution in the preferences ? or in the camera, if you also click use camera settings)
  4. fun stuff Gene!
  5. looks like a fun clip! good middle part !
  6. Blech. I have had that happen as well. See this post I found that suddenly I would not be able to open a model, chor that had been working previously. I was also trying to do something with hair. I found that I would have to uninstall, then re-install ver 16, and then I could open the model or chor. It was happening too many times so I went back to 15j+. I don't know what the sequence of steps is to recreate the situation. But I suspect your model is still ok. I sure hope so.
  7. I would suggest multiple things, besides using "advanced" view, rather than the preset picture view: 1) select use settings from camera instead in the preferences & 2) set your render settings in the camera property data in the chor. That is where you can control resolution. Then when you click on render to file button from the chor window - you will see your render settings. You can then inspect them again in the render to file dialog, in case you you want to experiment, or modify. However, in this case, since you have chosen custom settings, and have selected use parameters from the preferences dialog: Click on Advanced property in that dialog. You will be able to see all the settings, rather than the pictures. Then, scoll down to 2nd half to see where resolution is specified. That is probably where this resolution is coming from.
  8. yes I remember. Loved it then, as now. I do not remember it being as "washed, or blown out". I seem to remember deeper, lusher green leaves? If you use the bird rendered as you show in previous post, I would think that deeper green vegetation would be more consistent, harmonious. Depends on the look you're going for. And yes, the suggestion for curvy or crooked streets is a very good one. The straight streets seem odd, but you may have a reason for this?
  9. Perhaps you should try "render to file" rather than "render animation preview" and then saving to a file ? The movie you posted shows a render size of 1318 x 1074 (at 30 fps) - is that the resolution you want? Are you rendering from the camera view? what version of A:M? what are your rendering settings? (ie multipass? etc)
  10. Run two instances and open the task manager. Go to the Processes tab and on one instance of master.exe and "Set Affinity" to CPU 0 then do that for the other instance of master.exe and "Set Affinity" to CPU 1. Try it. try the tutorial that Fucher wrote Thanks - had to go hunting for tut. For my sake & others: Here is where Fuchurs TERRIFIC Tutorial of Netrender starts
  11. Does your current OS show more than one core available for the system? Yes - with xp pro Task Manager, it shows 2 - I've never tried to run 2 instances rendering with A:M (pre 16) - as I am not sure how to get 2nd instance running on 2nd core (versus both instances consuming same resources on 1 core). Nor have I've tried to use ver 16 netrender (yess...I am a gurly wuss scaredy pants)
  12. Are you asking: For this particular benchmark, using same version of A:M, rendering 1 frame only, same chor, using same rendering parameters, is there any other way to reduce rendering time, other than to use a more powerful processor (or overclock)? Some settings in A:M? faster/more cache? faster HD? faster RAM? faster bus? something else? Are there some items that can be tweaked in the OS (or elsewhere) ?- like virtual memory allocation?, processor utilization ? use 64 bit OS versus 32 bit (probably) and who knows what else? I'd like to know too. Is win7 faster than xp pro? Is 64bit win7 faster than 64bit xp pro?
  13. ver 15e CD 8:31 Dell 3GHz Intel Core2Duo E6850 1 core? 50%? 3GB Ram XP pro sp3 EDIT: with ver 15g CD 9:33 EDIT2: with ver 14c 8:18 ver 15j+ 9:34 ver 16beta3 32 bit 7:19
  14. Looks terrific. Love the character & camera work & animation. The breathing is an especially nice touch.
  15. terrific little character - was fun to see you model
  16. I am loving this.
  17. terrific!
  18. as Robert said - it appears to be expecting input in cm's (as the label in the dialog indicates) - you can still have your rulers, other units set to feet/inches if you like. Unfortunately - you have to do the conversion from inches to cm's to use the wizard at this time (and maybe forever?).
  19. 32 cm = approx 12.6 inches I believe if 1" = 2.54 cm
  20. Blech, Steve - so very sorry to hear this. Gives me the shakes. But as Spleen suggested, I'm also betting, hoping that the rework will result in improvements (and will take less time than the original work). Wishing you the most painless, speedy recovery!
  21. Very neat design of the raindrop! As a curiosity, is this character called "Dewy the raindrop"? Many years ago (10?) - I was approched by publisher to do sample illustrations for children's book of that name - which told the story of what happened to raindrops (starting in clouds, falling to earth, ice, etc) - nothing ever came of it, as I got tired of doing revisions for free - I'm wondering if this is the same children's story.
  22. great little robot!
  23. Very fun, creative! (Last fart joke I did was about 3 years ago. Sadly, I'm much, much, much more mature now)
  24. lol
