  1. I have submitted that feature request. This would really be a cool feature.. but I doubt that it would be easy to code / implement... but what do I know
  2. Can someone point me to where I can place a feature request please?
  3. Hi guys! I searched the forum and all I got was ancient threads about this feature, which didn't provide any infos on its usability... So I thought I ask again if anybody knows IF this Light map thing works, or maybe even HOW.. Or: does anybody know a (reasonable) workaround for 'baking' light and shadow into dacals / maps / whatever? Greetz, Elm.
  4. Perfect! - I wasn't even aware of enabling "overflow" (margins) in the baking dialogue. Thanks for pointing that out!!!!
  5. I'd like to add, that you do not NEED to use the bake function before exporting (I do not like it, because the automatic / baked decaling is a bit too chaotic to me, and there are seams along the patch edges...). Instead, you can alternatively make your own, more convenient UVs on your model, and then export the OBJ. The rest of the workflow stays the same. EDIT: This Video by William Sutton shows exatly what I'm talking about: https://youtu.be/czaYXaf_9D8
  6. Hi John! That would make a perfect "night and day" example! You can be sure that it will look MUCH smoother with help of that tangent shader blur method. One thing I'd like to know looking at that example: Are you using the muh hair shader in that rendering? greetz, Elm.
  7. nachträglich meinst Du... danke Danke!
  8. Ha! Naw --- come on... I get an A:M-to-octane-export, right? Oh - no - wait! I know what you got for me... A proprietary A:M GPU Render engine ...RIGHT? SOFT BODY DYNAMICS, TOO ?!? W O W ! Where can I download?!
  9. Late to the Party..... didn't even know there IS a party... Thanks a lot guys!
  10. Hi John, hi all! Back then when we were starting to work with Post Production Motion blur using Motion-vectors (RE: Vision ReelSmart), I wondered if it could be possible to "abuse" this technique and came up with the idea to blur out Hair along its direction to get it smoother. Genious Willi spent some time on writing a shader that does exactly this: It converts A:M hairs tangents into motion / direction data that can be interpreted by the RE:Vision After Effects Plugin. This works out perfectly - if not exaggerated too much (by cranking the Plug-In settings in AE). I attached two example images that demonstrate the effect: Greetings, Elm.
  11. Hi! The matcap plugin is free anyway. It's only available for windows though (32/64 bit). Willi told me that he cannot compile it for macintosh systems. Yoda has the code for it, maybe he finds the time to compile it. The latest plugin should run in V19 without problems (hopefully).
  12. Hi Freaks! I wondered if someone already knows what new features AM V.19 will have? Best, Elm.
  13. You may have an open choreography window in your workbook with that model you're working on. Please double-check that. Even if that choreography window is not active (just in the background), any modelling significantly lags. So - close that window. It's best anyway to have just that particular window opened in which you're actually working, be it modelling, action, relationship, or whatever.
  14. Wow! Thanks SO much! I'll try that out! One more thing: Does this work with animated parameters (i.e. animated fog distances), too?
  15. Late to the party, as always.... Robert - simply fantastic.
  16. Hi Guys! I'm adjusting the fog distance in my chor's camera (including setting keyframes for both "start" and "end" distance). When trying to render via the netrender Server, these settings get ignored - the standard 200cm for start and 800cm for end appear. Is this a bug? I tried with v 16 and 18. Greetz, Elm.
  17. Wow - supercool! To show a step by step would be too nice!
  18. Yes.... and that's exactly what I was JUST thinking......
  19. W O W ! ! ! Just discovered this. Bit late... This is simply AMAZING. the old switch was SOO annoying most of the times. To have this seamless switch is PRICELESS!!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!! Elmi.

Yeah - I use that technique all the time for lots of reasons (spinning light rig right now) - wasn't aware of the MOFOOF talk. But yeah - "MOFOOF" is one of the most powerful things that AM offers IMO.
