  1. Great work, Steve! Some of the best hair that I have seen in A:M! Your work is coming on in leaps and bounds. Keep pushing that envelope.
  2. Amazing, Al! You really have mastered the most difficult aspects of modelling in A:M. What is the patch count so far?
  3. Imagine that. Kneading your bread and frogs. Maybe that is the origin of toad in the hole.
  4. What a funny Pharaoh! Your best character so far, Gene.
  5. Back cover: "Self believe" should be "Self belief" Looks very eye catching, Ken.
  6. The circus has come to town! Are these all for one project?
  7. Other than the slightly squarish wheels it looks Great! Shouldn't there be some bracing between the two sides and a basket underneath? Maybe you could fit a V8 under the seat.
  8. YouTube now have a feature called "Swap Audio" which allows you to choose a soundtrack from a library of music which they provide. There is a wide variety of music to choose from and some of them are very good quality, though many are not so good midi convertions. The only problem from a movie maker's perspective is that you can't download the music and build it into your work. You just select a piece of music from the library and YouTube overwrites the audio on your movie with the tune you selected. Not ideal but better than nothing. Okay for some showreels and WIPs.
  9. Coming along nicely, Ken. The rythm seems awkward where you have the two lines ending "throw" and "snow". Just changing the word "him" to "Tommy" helps the clarity I feel. However it is your book and you should express it your way.
  10. Yes, this is normal. Some people peak the splines that run up to the edges to get rid of the tension there. You can also try moving the edge spline a little in the UV editor. Bias tweaking may help.
  11. Interesting solution. You might be able to do that by just selecting all of the keys in the action and then dragging the right end of the selection bar to the left to scale it, forcing keys onto subframes. Same thing, different approach.
  12. Channel 4, here in the UK, is having a 3d week next week and they asked for people to submit content which is less than 15 seconds long. They will be showing a few programs in anaglyph format and I think they just want some fillers between their programmes and adverts. They have distributed free amber/blue glasses to supermarkets around the UK so that everyone has the correct viewing apparatus. We have secured 1 pair for a family of four. Should be fun. I started to experiment but didn't get beyond that stage. Here are three examples. Red/Cyan glasses required for these anaglyphs: These seem to work best, (for me), when viewed at about 4 ft from the screen. And here is my favourite anaglyph discovery on YouTube: (Be sure to select the correct viewing method from the list on the YouTube page). The depth of field really helps, don't you think? --------------------- It just occured to me that Hash no longer distribute the red/blue glasses so there is a good chance that no one will be able to view these properly.
  13. Hey, there are lots of flaws in the real world too. That's photo reality for you. Splendid model, Al!
  14. Your models look terrific. I look forward to seing your progress.
  15. Looking good, Ken, though a variety of building periods would be better, especially if your going to be flying any distance. We can't have just one architect taking over the whole city. Regarding detail on the buildings, do a shaded render of your fly through and add details just in the places where the camera lingers long enough to focus. Where neccesary add junk like aerials, lightning rods, cables, pipes, air conditioning, pigeons and grunge. That's a great tip on using bloom with ambiance to add glow. I've often wanted to do that and this method should enable more control, allowing individual selection groups to have their own glow values. I'll have to play with bloom to test if this works.
  16. Ha ha. Brilliant! I could almost hear a diving board.
  17. This is what my son orginised for Halloween: He is not responsible for the poor camera work in this as he was busy working as assistant cameraman for the BBC who filmed it for a program coming out in December. Here is a much better freeze that they did a few months ago:
  18. Excellent! Now is that wheel really spinning or did you use a projection map?
  19. Thanks, Nancy. Steve, you're a very naughty boy! It's dark here in London and little critters keep knocking on my door. ------ Edit: Hey! I typed those words several times and still got it wrong. Spooky!
  20. Sounds like great fun, Ken. Do you have children around you that fit the target audience? They, and their mums, will be the ones who let you know whether it will succeed or not. Best of luck with it all.
