  1. Wow. Your work is among the best. And it is proof that Animation Master can achieve the very highest professional standards not only for organic and character modeling (and animation) but for mechanical and architectural applications as well. Looking forward to seeing the model develop.
  2. Excellent model. Brings back memories. By the way, I am interested in making a brass material. Would you put the settings for the material to analyze as well as any tips on making good mettalic textures?
  3. Nice start on the model Tralfaz. Also, nice model on the red car Eric2575. Excellent splinage. Do you have any beauty renders of it?
  4. Really nice image. I like the new image better. Would you let us know how you achieved the light reflections in the balls? Thank you. Great work as usual.
  5. Whoa... (Temporary silence due to speechlessness) Xtaz, on the renders you did with AO against the white background, are there any other lights in the scene besides the AO? Joe.
  6. Interesting discussion. Yves, I am excited to hear about your short animation project, can you give more details? Can't wait! Joe.
  7. Amazing! Great artist, great program.
  8. Stian, You are a very talented artist. Just out of curiosity, do you have a day job or are you a student? Or do you strictly devote your time to your own 3D work? Joe.
  9. This is great stuff. Best of luck, and keep posting. Joe
  10. Cool lookin' guy. Is that Animation Master?
  11. This is something that I would like to know as well. I am planning to get After Effects CS3 but don't have it yet. I thought maybe Photoshop would do it, but I can't seem to find any info about it. Another reason why Hash burns the competition. It would be very useful to have it in AE however. Please post any info you may find out about AE CS3 and EXR. -J
  12. Thanks, that is interesting. Would you please explain the steps one would go through to set up an EXR decal with values brighter than white such as you mention. Feel free to move it to a different thread if you think it woulld be hijacking Stian's Peterbilt thread.
  13. Thanks, Matt. I do have the latest version and am interested in AO (and did a little experimenting with it). I was, however, not aware that AO handled reflections so nicely (the chrome). Regarding the windows, How does AO handle transparency? in this render it looks great, however I seem to recall in Yves' tut, that the clear shield in Buzz Lightyear's helmet rendered solid. Does AO render transparent objects correctly? What about transparent objects with reflections such as windows? Is this doable?
  14. Oh my gosh. Wonderful model. Also, great lighting as well. How did you achieve it? (the lighting. Joe.
  15. Matt- That looks like a good link about AO you posted previously in this thread. Are you referring to the same place when you mentioned the wiki above? Also, nice work on the tanks Kelley.
  16. That's funny. Nice work and interesting project. I never realized you were brothers. Kool.
  17. Nice X-Wing, and nice displacement mapping, although a bit spotty as you say. Matt, is there a thread around here or tutorial that describes how to get started with displacement mapping? Joe.
  18. Awesome. Thanks. Beautiful modeling job there. World class. I will look up how to use it in the radiosity forum (I need to upgrade my version of AM). May I ask if there were any real lights in the scene or was the entire lighting handled by AO? By the way, is it possible to get reflections with A.O?
  19. Hi there, Would you be so kind to tell me how the lighting was achieved for this amazing image? Was a "skylight" rig used? If so, would you point me in the proper directions or offer a bit of advice on how to do it? I may have a potential client and would like to make a presentation of their product box using a similar feeling for the lighting. Thank you very much.
  20. This is cool. Star Trek Lives! By the way, how do you achieve such soft edged shadows and dramatic lighting on the image above?
  21. Amazing work, my good man. A tip of the hat to you. A couple of questions: First, what kind of lighting setup did you use? (How did you achieve that beautiful soft shadow under the vehicle?) Secondly, is this model available to others desiring to acquire it? If so, what are the terms of its acquisition? Joe.
