Hi Alex, Welcome to A:M, I looked at your model and played around with a couple of ways to make a ski. From looking a the ones you made I suspect you haven't gone through TaoA:M tutorials yet. (The art of Animation Master) TaoA:M is the first link in the forum under "Getting Started". Largento did some excellent tutorials on understanding how splines and control points work, they are foundHERE. The "easiest" way is to learn how splines work, and how they are persuaded to do your bidding. It may take a little while at first, but it is well worth the effort. Here is a project that contains your model and a model of a couple of different ways of making the skis take a look at these in wire frame and shaded wireframe and maybe it will help. Part of "splinesmanship" is learning to use the fewest amount of Splines and CP's to achieve your desired shape. Best of Luck Skis.prj

Thank You, ludo_si, That was fascinating to me. As well as educational. I sampled the clips and will study them more thoroughly a little later when I have a bit more time. Was that AM Paint that you used to make the decal for the eyeball? If not what program was it?

I enjoyed it. Looking forward to this years version. Enjoyed the credits, too. there's nothing wrong with me, I just enjoyed Mayers music. Thanks for giving the Sharpie Corp. the credit they so obviously deserve and so seldom get.

Love the style and look of the whole Wannabe thing, Mark. This boat looks really good, but it's gonna be hard to top the chickens. They were the epitome of stylistic distinction. Keep it up.

Thanks, Gerry. I'm not totally sure that was the one, but it does the trick. Thank you and Thank You Yves.

A few months ago I found, and went through, a simple but excellent little tutorial on how to make a beveled cube. It was step by step, but I am not sure if it was a video tutorial or not, I'm thinking not. I am pretty sure I found it in the tutorials section somewhere, but after searching through there for an hour or so, it seems to have eluded me. In my (often faulty) memory it seems to have been one of several "mini" tutorials in the same 'place'. It was not the Qvids. For some reason I want to think they were done by Ken H. (But that may only be because of the fact that I hold him and his skills in such high regard. I wish to go through the tute again, but I can't find it. Can anyone help? thanks Myron

Sheri would be proud. Happy New Year, Rob. I used to look forward to her show on Saturday mornings. I thought she was one hot babe!

The Bangles say "Walk Like An Egyptian".

Robcat, Those couple of strategic new pen strokes improved the caricature considerably. Is caricature drawing something new for you? Robert, your artistic skills impress me only slightly less than your understanding of the fine points of animation, and both of those only just behind your grasp of all things A:M. I always learn something from every one of your posts. Just thought I'd let you know. Myron

I alway enjoy looking at your projects. I am always impressed. I went skiing once. As I stumbled my way down the slope, there were these youngsters literally skiing circles around me. Wonder what made me think of that story? Keep it up, you are doing wonderful work.

I've enjoyed all of your Christmas animations, Gerry, and every year you seem to up the ante and keep getting better. Bravo!

Thanks everybody, I was just thrilled that A:M got a couple of mentions in my small town paper. Hopefully all of their 47 readers will consider getting A:M.

When I sent out emails to my regulars about "The Ballad Of Eddie", I accidentally (honest!..Really!.. ) sent an email to a reporter for the local paper. We ended up doing a short interview over the phone and this is what came out of it. Got in two good plugs for Animation Master.

Rob, Even if you don't make it for the 11 second club. Keep up this little project, I'm learning a ton just from your postings.

Testing with November 11 second club entry
MJL replied to NancyGormezano's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Of all the 11 second sound bites I've heard, admittedly not all that many, this one seems the toughest to animate to. I still can't determine what she's had nine cans of. Up until the time you added the bird, I was troubled by the squeak at the beginning of the clip. Now, of course, I realize that it is not a squeak, but a chirp! Excellent job, Nancy, with a very tough sound bite. -
Great Chickens! Don't ba-a-alk at using them to set up a good yolk! (sooner or later SOMEONE had to say SOMETHING!) Seriously, Mark, all of your modeling is so clean, concise, and inspiring! The stuff you show always serves to egg me on. (I can resist anything but temptation ) Myron

Right after I got A:M, I read this post by oakchas, I followed his advice and had the manuals spiral bound. It cost me less than his estimate, and has been the best advice on A:M that I've had. Better Than A Dragon Button Thought I'd pass it on. Myron
