Doesn't the book show you how to create models from pictures? Like the plane.

Wow.. I guess I just need to get a better understanding of what is possible. When I see stuff like this in movies/TV, I assume animators did everything using the computer, not that the computer did some of the work. Looks awesome to me!

Well, I don't think the porn industry has anything to say about it. If you've watched any true HD content (not upconverted content) you will notice that you can see a lot more flaws in people. Add those flaws to the porn industry and you have a whole lot of porn nobody wants to watch. Anyway, before rendering anything, ask the company that will be writing it to HD-DVD what exactly the format needs to be, and how you should provide it to them. I would assume if it won't fit onto a data DVD that you would have to cut it up into sections and burn it to a bunch of DVDs for them to reassemble in their shop. Of course, that all depends on how much content you have. Last I read, the average HD movie is 20-30GB in size, not including extra stuff.

We'll just have to wait and see.. there are two ways to look at it.. First, if they really "lose", then there should be a bunch of HD-DVDs in the discount bin for cheap.. Time to pick some up.. Second, if Sony does win, they will be able to stop giving the $4 per movie discount. That would in turn cause the cost per Blueray disc to go up. Being a monopoly on HD discs, they will be able to do whatever they want with the prices.. Hopefully it will be at that point that people realize that Sony is evil and HD-DVDs may be reborn. We'll just have to wait and see.

You might want to check into an HD-DVD burner first.. to see if it's worth the cost. Unless you are going to outsource burning the HD-DVDs.

I think it's the bulge.. I'm not sure.. Could it be that they pop backwords when the leg is strait? I can't say for sure.. I just know they look freaky.. And for some reason.. I "feel" a pop in there.. Wish I could help more by explaining it better.

Then you have to check out the "The Little Things" video clip and I think you will see what I mean. Floyd isnt exactly the sharpest tool in the shed. Or maybe it's just that I have watched these episodes a few hundred thousand times, and even an ugly snapping turtle would remind me of Floyd.

Is there also a way to see individual frames in the video imported? When I did it, it only showed the first frame. But, if I want to make my animation interact with something that is moving around in the live action video or if the camera is moving around, how would I do that? And just for the sake of it, I'll repost the Combining CG Characters with Live Action tutorial link again.

Well, there are a lot of development communities on IRC. it's an easy way to get an instant response to a problem without any wait. That is, if you have knowledgeable people on the channel (not me) and they are available when you need them. Stronghorn, there is nothing to setting up a channel, you just join it and you are ops. But, if you leave, the channel disappears, which is why I am offer bots to keep the channel alive. Tell me the name you want and I will add it to my bots, add your host mask, and they will auto op you and whoever else you want to have ops on the channel. Once you have had the channel alive for a while, and are using ident (2 of my bots are), efnet servers will op you if something bad happens (like a net split) and you loose ops on the channel.

I have a few bots that could auto op and admin the channel if you use efnet.

It's not that I am not willing to provide the time, it's that I don't have much time to provide. Also, I'm not a reader. I'm more of a hands on type of person. I have started TaoAM a couple of time, and completed a few lessons (I know your not supposed to jump around..) and have watched the online videos a few dozen times (which are great, btw). It would be nice to be able to sign up for an online course (creates dedicated A:M time) as well as allows a hands on person to learn quicker then stumbling through online toturails. And then, requiring "homework" to be completed makes sure the user (me) is actually doing the lesson and understanding the steps. I have yet to even create my own model. I have only played with pre-created ones. Even something as 'simple' as extruding, as I read it.. thought that is sounded easy.. but I haven't done it yet. But, I take Google SketchUp and have built many models in it within minutes. I'm sure they aren't animation worthy.. and maybe once I grasp the concept in A:M it will be the same way. I don't know.. I guess I just get over whelmed every time I start, and then decide it's easier to borrow models, and the next thing I know, I'm off in left field playing with smoke and fire, or hair. Stuff I don't even need. My wife yells down (computers are in the basement) and it's midnight.. I'd been playing for 3 hours and have nothing to show for it. I could be wrong, but I think an online course that I am paying for (dedicated to A:M, not animation in general) is what I need to succeed.
