my next project.
I drew today. I really want to model;)
i drew it in sketchbook.

really nice ... Sketchbook is my favorite app for drawing... waiting for v7 and its new features ( flipbook, perspective ... ... ...)

hello, I advanced a little on the body.

I also modeled the belt.

I created an action to the mapping of the belt, the decal on the tissue was well fold.

I like sketchbook, it's fantastic to draw. with a cintig it's great.

Ludo, Did you mirror model one side ie: copy/flip/attach?

Looks like something for the next season of SYFY's Faceoff.

Anatomically speaking the creature needs a much larger abdomen as it appears to be too small on this version and makes it look disproportional.

The sketch seems to be better balanced, but other wise very nicely modeled.

I like the contrast in proportions, I often do that.

very big hands, thin body, big head.

Here is an example of disproportion well.

always proportional, I do not always find it interesting.

why not;)

Yeah, this is turning out great. I love the look of this creature. It reminds my of the character in the video game resistance, except it's all your own. Although, once you put on the hair it will nothing like them :).

thanks ;)
I noticed a bug in the hair. I mentioned.
I added wings to the character. It gives it more character, I hope.

hello, I started the wings. I think it is more interesting that way.

And I came across a bug that I find important.

When you make a copy and paste of an object that has a decal, 5 point patches to lose decal.

Yes, nice improvement!

That's a really fun character. (I'd say scary but... I like fun better)

That sounds familiar. I believe there is a workaround to that but I can't put my finger on it at the moment.

At a guess try saving first before you copy/paste. (That can't hurt... especially if you save with updated/incremental filenames)

hello, here is a use of an object AM with 3DCoat for painting.
It is quite possible to use 3DCoat texturing AM objects. color, specular, bump, bake ao, glow texture etc...
No problem with the uv with AM bake option. to export, I used the export obj * 16, with selected triangles. (Other division 32, 64 etc ... give a worse result)
And it work well ;)

I'm really liking this so far. I myself would like the wings a little larger to look more menacing.

I enlarged the wing. Effectively, this gives it a more menacing appearance. I still model's details. It will have a weapon but I still have the drawing.

He's looking even better than the original drawing. :)

Those feet are awesome.

The bumps on his back make the wings seem like attachments.

For a second I thought that was the intention but looking at an earlier rendering they look more natural and part of the body (due to the similarity in flesh color).

The wings are a l m o s t at the size where I'd think they'd be able to support his weight.

FWIW It might help to think of the wings not as extensions but as an extra set of arms and hands with the bulk of the wings being stretched out fingers.

I planned protections for the wings. It is for this reason that there is a bump. This allows me to see the volumes.

I have added protections for the forearms. I continue to add some details which are not on the drawing.

Thanks for the good ideas.

There are protections for the shoulders also to model. After I attached the halves of characters and then I do the textures.

Here is a rendering. I exported the object to 3DCoat with the method of malo.

I did a bake Ao. Made in 9 seconds.

With the method of malo, I can use 3DCoat for all textures. Diffuse, specular, specular color, glow, bump. it works perfectly.

Sweet. You guys are doing great things with your workflow.

I love this guy. He reminds me of those little pewter figures I would buy back in the day for D & D.

hello, Here is a rendering without ao without SSAO (problem with artifacts). Just a bake AO in 3DCoat and very large projectors to simulate the ao.
