Xtaz
Just to show you a little test. I exported my F350 model and used it with a GPU renderer: render = 1.2 sec/frame total time render ( 250 frames ) = 4 min 54 sec f350.mov

Xtaz
Looks great! >a GPU renderer it's a standalone renderer that works with OBJ model. it costs 99 euros. I'm not sure if I can put a link here.
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted March 30, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted March 30, 2012 That's "Octane", right? I think we've mentioned that here before. As far as I can tell, it doesn't support "decals". Am i wrong about that?

John Bigboote
Wow! Big difference between the front and back bumpers, different material?
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted May 10, 2012 Hash Fellow Share Posted May 10, 2012 I downloaded the demo version and just tried loading their test scenes. It's not quite the instantaneous view I expected, it's rather like the Progressive render in A:M, it starts out with a VERY grainy image then slowly refines it and fills in the pixels. Of course the grainy view gives you a quick idea of how your lighting is doing, but our Progressive render does a fair job of that too. The "Hallway" scene I'm looking at now says it's going to take an hour+ to finish. It would be interesting to model a similar scene in A:M and compare. I suppose if that hour is "real" radiosity that's not bad, but... I can't help thinking one could use conventional lighting in A:M to get a very similar result more quickly. I'll look at it further when I have more time.

I have once rendered a similar turntable with octane of another vehicle, and it had baked decals.
