ludo_si
Here is what I found for the problem of the displacement mapping in 16 bits and th correction gamma of 2.2. Therefore veils small smartness to correct this problem. I use curved option in the menu picture of toshop. And I make darker my texture of 54/100. In the export, I acquire tone that I need for my distortion. It is my method but perhaps not the ideal. It is anyway very easy and quick
Hash Fellow robcat2075 Posted April 30, 2010 Hash Fellow Share Posted April 30, 2010 Use EXR for your displacement map and you don't have to deal with PNG weirdness. OpenEXR.org has a EXR plugin for photoshop

Admin Rodney Posted April 30, 2010 Admin Share Posted April 30, 2010 Off the charts! Yet another outstanding demonstration of displacement at work. As I understand it the next best thing to EXR for displacement is TGA. Its going to be hard to beat EXR though. Please post this guy in action when you get him moving!
