TheSpleen Posted June 24, 2010 Author Posted June 24, 2010 Wasn't sure how I was going to make a rainbow cause as far as I know you cannot arc a rimlight. But the effect works. Quote
Paul Forwood Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 That's cool but if you want an arched rainbow you can use a cookie cut rainbow and then adjust the transparency of the patch. Quote
TheSpleen Posted June 25, 2010 Author Posted June 25, 2010 That's cool but if you want an arched rainbow you can use a cookie cut rainbow and then adjust the transparency of the patch. That never occured to me. Perfect solution. Already have the rim light rainbow rendering and if it's no good then your solution is next. Quote
Gerry Posted June 29, 2010 Posted June 29, 2010 Hey Gene, it's been dog's years since I checked in on this thread and your progress is just amazing! I love all the stills of the animals, great personality and your lighting is greatly improved! Nice work. Quote
TheSpleen Posted June 30, 2010 Author Posted June 30, 2010 I love the characters, Gene! Your style is really showing through in your modeling! Here's a couple of materials I made when I was modeling the monkey ship that might be helpful to you with your ark model. The materials make it look like the surfaces are made up of boards. They are cartoony, but I think that will work well with your style, too. Note the custom settings in the object groups. I give the materials negative bump percents and mess with the scale (to make the boards the right size.) Here's a super-simple model to show what they look like. The negative bump percent cuts the grooves into the surface. You can choose your own colors. Here's the zip. Sorry for the enormous size, but the deckpattern image I made is enormous. shipstuff.zip I would like tp give you credit my friend. which name do you prefer? Quote
