Stuart Rogers Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 Im postig this just to show an idea :So I hope you don't mind me posting this just to make suggestions...! I would put a more extreme movement on the water surface at the end of the pipe, with a more violent rebound. Also, I think water droplets distort quite a lot once they detach from the liquid bulk, and take some time to settle down. That said, they leave your frame to soon to reaally show this. Finally, the droplet looks a little too reflective, even to the point of looking like liquid metal. But, as usual, I'm being picky. It's very good work. Quote
NancyGormezano Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I think it's absolutely fabulously done. Great job. I'm evaluating it from a subjective artistic standpoint - not from a physical water dropping simulation viewpoint. The water dropping has plenty personality & style with just enough suggestion of realism for me. I might even prefer it with less realism. Tho I wouldn't suggest changing it. Obviously two different viewpoints - so it depends on what your original objective is? Realism? or Art? or ? Quote
KenH Posted April 13, 2006 Posted April 13, 2006 I think it looks great. The only nitpick is the shape of the droplet when it's just hanging on and about to break off. The sides seem too straight. Also the reflection seems off. PS That would be a nice effect for a tap in TWO..... Quote
ddustin Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Reminds me of an old Cheech & Chong Skit. Tired of the steady, drip, drip, drip of ............... lol Quote

Xtaz Posted April 15, 2006 Author Posted April 15, 2006 Im postig this just to show an idea : But, as usual, I'm being picky. and I like this .... thx Stuart .... so it depends on what your original objective is? Realism? or Art? or ? i was think something like reartlism .... The only nitpick is the shape of the droplet when it's just hanging on and about to break off. The sides seem too straight. Also the reflection seems off. PS That would be a nice effect for a tap in TWO..... Ill fix it ... yu are right .... i would love to participate n TWO .... Thx KEN Great stuff! You are a master of DOF shots. Thank you Dhar ..... Xtaz, Cool!!! Would you please share how you accomplished this in A:M?? Meaning what features were used??? sure .... as always I used just a basic feature - POSE and adjust cp's .... I created two different groups inside a model, I called them BASE ( white ) and DROP (yellow), they arent conected ... then i used POSE to setup the scene .... i adjusted cp's in 25/50/75/100 % using magnetic tool and i did some little adjusts between 70 / 100 % to fix drop shape. While the drop goes down the base closes frame 0 POSE 0% frame 30 POSE 100% as I said .... basic The wireframed DROP v1.1 is here : WIREFRAMED DROP MOV ( 186 Kb ) THX ALL Quote
