MMZ_TimeLord Posted April 24, 2006 Posted April 24, 2006 The one thing I can see missing at this point is the lower half of the R2 unit. If I remember correctly it locks into the wing with both the top and bottom poking out. Great work! Nice detail on the cockpit! Congrats! Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted April 25, 2006 Author Posted April 25, 2006 heres a closer look at the cockpit Quote
johnzsigo Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Very intricate representation of the model seen in the movie... Great job! I'm interested in seeing the wireframe. Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted April 25, 2006 Author Posted April 25, 2006 OK to answer a few questions here directed to leo: what kind of wireframe. you mean just go to wire mode and take a pic? directed to dhar: what do you mean more lights? directed to timelord: everything is to scale, so the r2 dosnt actualy fit for some reason i noticed that too Quote
Dhar Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 directed to dhar: what do you mean more lights? Well, it just looks a little dark, that's all. Quote
Leo73 Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 You can render out a wireframe. Goto your render to file settings. Click on the advanced tab and then click on the options tab. Where it says Quality click on the Final that's next to it and you can select wireframe. Hope that helps Quote
Paul Forwood Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Excellent looking model! How about putting one klieg light in there to bring out some specular highlights and a skydome to give the model something to reflect? Very impressive! Quote
Viper GTX2.0 Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 Man thet is the best starfighter in AM that someone has done. Nice job on the detail. Quote

Dark_Jedi Posted May 5, 2006 Author Posted May 5, 2006 The one thing I can see missing at this point is the lower half of the R2 unit. If I remember correctly it locks into the wing with both the top and bottom poking out. Great work! Nice detail on the cockpit! Congrats! the feet dont stick out of the bottom. im sure of that lol. if you watched the opening batlle scene as mich as i did to make sure your modeling it right.. youd know too haha. Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 iv been testing textures on the jedi starfighter and iv come up with this so far. it not exactaly what i want so if anyone knows any good materials that can make something like this i would love to know P.S. i changed the colour from red to blue, to match the colour of the jedi starfighter for my movie and i dont know what colour to make the droid. i was thinking green or blue to match the ship. any ideas? Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 Alright then hows this? i also changed the colour of the indide of the cock pit. also, the green i picked may be too bright lol Quote
KenH Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 It's a great model. But let us see it! I believe this PS tweaked image is what they're asking for... Also, you need to get some specular highlights in there. It is made of metal right? Also, to make it stand out and look 3D, a rim light is required to add a highlight to the back edge of the model. Maybe a stars image behind might complete it too. Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 right ken, i rememberd the fact that the lights were to dull but do remember it is in space. as for specular highlights, ill add those in on my next image post. and im not wishing to do a space background untill its fully completed Quote
KenH Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Space might be black, but have you ever been unable to see the Milenium Falcon? You're entitled to use artistic licence too..... Quote
Leo73 Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I think the green is okay, try that orange that you used in the cockpit. I might look good too Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted May 7, 2006 Author Posted May 7, 2006 i dont want orange cuz the second jedi starfighter in my movie is orange. Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 did some more playing around with texture today. its a bit too dirty but its getting there. let me know what you all think P.S. i made it lighter for yea ken Quote
Dhar Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Whooaa! It looks like it just came from Baghdad! Nice work. Quote
KenH Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Very nice battle damage. It's really cut up there! Some black burns on the guns might look good too. Quote
Gorf Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 Very nice battle damage. Battle damage???? The cockpit and R2 have been blown away! Quote
Dark_Jedi Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 haha i did that so i can only focus on the wings. and ill be doing the guns shortly. after i get wings just right Quote
