  1. If you cant find the arnold model somewhere, I would definately look for better front and bank rotos. Try to keep your patches as "square" and evenly sized with one another as possible. It will lead to a much smoother model. Don't forget about the porcelain mat. If they still have it in the newer versions.
  2. Thanks fir the comments David and Nancy. Nancy: Coming fromn the Queen of all Charming that is indeed a compliment.
  3. I also have trouble with noses, but ears are where my head splits open, ha. good start so far.
  4. Wow, congratulations! I watched it and thought it was dark and quirky. I like it alot .
  5. Thanks for the fast reply Rodney. You are probably right. I was going by the concept art and he's being looked down on. When I'm actually making him its from a front-on perspective. So I think I made the cranium too high. He will only be seen from the front, but I want to get it right for all angles . He will have hair though, so it might cover up that... we'll see. Thanks again. Here's a "sneak peak" at the final image. Only decals on him are on the eyes. Jeff B.

I Love the whole scene so far. I especially love how good your cloth is here, nice.
  7. Thanks alot, Rodney. Well, here's the head. Still needs alot of tweaking. Jaw, cheek and especially the cranium from the side. Something isn't right there, but I can't see what it is. Any help with that would be apreciated I will also have to do major tweaking once I put the eyes in. Jeff B.
  8. This is freakin' nuts! Excellent work. I don't know how you have the patience (sp?) to do this kind of detail.
  9. This is looking real good! Did you try using negative lights? Jeff B.
  10. Thanks alot for the encouragment everyone. It's nice to be back . Just to prove I really am trying to figure out A:M again, here's the face so far. Still needs a little tweaking, but basic proportions are where I want them. Jeff B.
  11. It's been long and long since I posted anything -- heck, it's been awhile since I made anything . I have totally forgotten how to do the most simple of things within A:M, so this should be fun trying to get back in. But I'm really going to try to get back into it this time, and I thought what better way than to make my character from my friend's adventure. This character is named Connor. He is a twenty-four-year-old who looks no older than twelve. He has above average night vision, unusual strength for his size, and is skilled in martial arts. Since I'm not the greatest at drawing I decided to go with a sketchy look for my concept. I actually thought it turned out fairly well after coloring and shading was done. The concept was done on the iPad using SketchBook Pro. I want to get my model to look pretty similar to the concept, because I like the slightly stylized look a accidentilly drew, haha. Hopefully I'll have an update in the next few days, but I wanted to get this thread started as a motivator. Thanks for looking. Jeff B.
  12. Wow, thank alot everyone. It's been awhile since I checked out the forums. I'm liking the new site. I'm thinking about getting back into A:M. I haven't decided if i'm ready to upgrade though. Thanks again.
  13. Thanks for the answers. I got a new job so I've been pretty busy lately, but I'm planning on buying trhe newest version of A:M sometime in January. So I will probably wait until then to try anything. Thanks again.
  14. This is looking beautiful so far. It might have something to do with your AO settings. If it's too high it will affect the shadows being cast by other lights.
  15. I like him alot. I do think those brow horns are the problem with the gender reversal .
  16. No way. Green dragons belong in the forest .
  17. What are you using to make this? It looks awesome. It definately reminds me of a match. Can the colors be adjusted easily?
  18. SHe's looking real good so far. I can't wait to see her fully textured. Will you be adding SSS?
  19. He looks happy . I think it's looking aweome.
  20. That's coming along nicely. I love the clothes so far. Let me know how you do the wrinkles I suck at those, haha.
  21. Well, it's been awhile since I posted an update so I did a quick render of the Pooka in the scen. This isn't even close to done yet . I will also probably be shrinking him down a little. Although I like the postion of the head the body isn't actually posed in this pic. I just angled the whole model so his head matches that position. Thanks for looking.
  22. That is some impressive mechanical modeling.
  23. Thanks for the info everyone. I'm going to give some of these a try. Right now I'm just trying to get a recording of more than half a minute to come out of Camstudio with the sound working. For some reason it's not working if it's longer than that. PS: A tutorial thread on tutorials in the the tutorial section is awesome . EDIT: I installed that ffdshow -- now what? How's it work with Camstudio? I think I need a step-by-step here. Because I am definately missing something. I have no money so I have to use freeware. I have Camstudio, Super, and now ffdshow installed.
  24. I have the newest quicktime, but the codec doesn't seem to show up in the Camstudio codec section. Is it strictly for quicktime and that doesn't work with Camstudio? Would recording in Camstudio, then re-rendering it in A:M as a camera roto work? That way I could record at high resolution and then render it smaller with the .h264 codec? Thanks for any answers. I think I have an idea for a very short tutrorial on the way I set my SSS for a character and the lighting set up I use in the Chor.
  25. Could someone tell me of a good, trustworthy, site to download these codecs you guys are talking about?
