Would you mind if I tried modelling this car as well? Thanks... Al

Hi Greg: I prefer to use Sony Movie Studio. It around $100 US for it and you can download a 30 day free trial from the link below. http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/downlo...ep2.asp?DID=613 It will allow you to load a .wmv video file (or .mov or whatever), and save it to many different formats, including uncompressed AVI, DVAVI, etc. Al

Your VW is outstanding and was one of the models I voted for. Actually all four of the models I voted for won. I wish I could model cars as well as you do. The texturing on it is great. I have painted a car or two outdoors, and the paint job ended up looking just like yours. Not sure if you meant it to look like orange peel or not, but it still looks great. There were a couple of things that were kind of nagging at me and I finally figured out what they are. Looking at photos of other '69 VWs, the front headlights don't look quite right. The chrome trim rings should be a bit larger at the top and narrow at the bottom, so it is on more of an angle where it is attached to the fenders. 1969 VW The bumpers on your VW look more like an early to mid 60's VW, like the picture below. 1966 VW Keep up the great work and would like to see more from you... I think what you are looking for is Animation:Master 2007 (with the TWO Image on it). The official release is v13 and v14 is in beta now, which can be downloaded here. Any releases that occur in 2007 can be downloaded if you have the 2007 version. Al

Hope you will be able to do something with these characters! I have saved this video and show it to just about everyone as to what A:M is capable of. Al

You are both right on your comments. I had been using A:M for only a few months when I started working on the AT-AT and was learning as I went along. Hmmm... things haven't changed too much. Still learning as I am going along. Feel free to change or modify the model if you wish, add to it, have fun. Al

Hi Gorf: I just created a new WIP for the AT-AT where anyone can download the model (see link below). http://migrate.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28158 Hope people can make some use of it. Al

Hey folks. I had started an AT-AT from Star Wars a while back, and am releasing it to the community here. It doesn't have any textures on it, but it is rigged and the project comes with a basic walk cycle for it. Feel free to download the model for your own use. If you happen to add textures to it, or change it in any way, please post the updated project and textures here so others can have access to it as well. There is a read me in the zip file that contains a history of changes. Please add a description of your changes to the History, so you can receive proper credit. When it comes time for the next Extras CD/DVD, I would like to submit the latest version of the AT-AT to the collection. Thanks... Al at_at.zip

Hi Gorf: Nice job on the tracking with the speeder. I had started working on an AT-AT a while back (see link below). It isn't textured, but it is rigged and has a walk cycle with it. If you are interested, I can zip the project up and you are more than welcome to use it. I only ask that if you add textures to it or change it, that you make the textures and changes available to whoever else wants to use the model. Also, if the model is used in any type of film (other than tests), that credit is given. http://migrate.hash.com/forums/index.php?s...=24581&st=0 Thanks... Al

I am so totally envious of such amazing talent Stian. Have you ever considered putting together a video tutorial of how you do such great models? Or maybe a series of tutorials? Such as modelling, lighting, rendering, texturing, etc.? No matter how hard I try, I just can't seem to get my models as clean looking as yours. Thanks... Al

Could you possibly post a shaded wire-frame view? Is it possible that you have reflections turned on your render and model? Just a guess.... Al
-
...and so it proved to be. 'Got everything spec.'d out [& resolution set to 'Low']. But while I can see each frame as it renders, right out to the last, when I summon up the final product, there's just a solid black window. I have been doing some tests with QuickTime since I also just upgraded to 7.1.6. It should also be noted that I just did a complete and fresh install of Windows XP SP2 on my PC this past weekend. I am also using A:M 13s (Oz). Each test render that I did is coming out just fine. I started with just a single pass, no shadows, etc. and it worked. Then I slowly started adding things back into the render process such as multi-pass (16 passes), then motion blur, shadows, etc. until just about everything was turned on. QuickTime still showed the final render properly. Al

I agree about reading the manual and working through the exercises. If you have a problem with a certain step in the exercise, people will be more likely to help you since you are making an effort to learn the software (and the post probably won't be deleted). If you are like me, and have difficulty learning from manuals sometimes, download the video tutorials of the exercises (or watch them on-line) and watch them as you read the manual and do the exercises. You can get the video tutorials here: http://www.hash.com/VM/ Hope this helps... Al

Jeepers! I can almost hear the tires humming down the highway, the smell of diesel exhaust wafting through my rolled down windows, a '77 Black Bird Trans Am running blocker for a beer laden, boot legging transport... (as I now come back to reality) That is one fine looking model you are building Stian. Al

Great job on Geddy! Rush is coming to town in the near future and my son is going to see them with his friends. Al

I am not at the computer with A:M on it right now, but if you select QuickTime first, then click on Compression, you should be brought to a window where you can select Sorrenson 3 and a host of other goodies... The compression types you mention are for .avi files. Al

I needed a bit of a break from working on my Jupiter 2 model, so thought I would re-create the Jedi Starfighter and HyperRing model created in Anim8or. This is what I have so far after a few hours of work... C&C always welcome... Al

> I am assuming that this is London, England and not London, Ontario, Canada... Al P.S. If anyone is from London, Ontario, Canada, I would be interested in getting together to discuss A:M.

Looking for modeler for short Star Wars film
Tralfaz replied to PurpleDingo's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Anim8or was actually a pretty good free polygon based program. I got to be not too bad at modelling with it, but Anim8or lacked some features that I was looking for when it came to animating. A:M has all those nifty features and a whole lot more!! -

Another update: I have completed the flight deck consoles along with the animated actions. Now for some launch couches, astrogator, lift between upper and lower decks and a few other goodies... Jupiter2.mov C&C always welcome... Al -

Any other ships that you need? Thanks... Al Edit: In case you need them, I have been working on an AT-AT in A:M... ... as well as this Jedi Starfighter and Hyper Ring. It was created in Anim8or, but I don't think it would be that difficult to re-create in A:M. -
Jupiter 2 - From the classic TV series
Tralfaz replied to Tralfaz's topic in Work In Progress / Sweatbox
Thanks Martin. Watching the series now does kind of spoil the childhood memories. Somehow, a giant talking carrot doesn't hold up over time as well as it should... Once the interior is finished, I would like to donate it to the next Extras CD/DVD, if that is okay. Al -
They did that in Mel Brooks 'Spaceballs'. Funny, funny movie.
