  1. Excellent model...can't wait to see everything put together!
  2. Excellent Rob! Very clear and concise. Thank you for taking the time to explain it! Tom
  3. Good eye Rob! I am embarassed to ask this question...but....how do you add an atx file to a model? The manual says: "Applying a Texture Plugin Plugin textures are accessed by right-clicking (Control-clicking on a Mac) a material attribute and picking [Change Type To][Plugin]. Animation:Master includes many plug-in textures, including “Dented”, “Planet”, “Scales”, and “Environment Map” and “Projection Map”. Most texture names are selfexplanatory, such as “Basketball” and “Crumple." When I follow those instructions the only things that are listed are- Basketball Environment map Projection map Simcloth Wave The dented file is in my atx folder but obviously I am not linking it to the software properly. Any suggestions are welcome, Thanks! Tom
  4. Hello- Simple question (but it has me stumped)... When you drag a decal into the model window, the decal can be scaled...but can it be rotated? In the past I have always just rotated the image before I import it into AM..but it would be nice if the decal could be rotated in the model window.. Is this possible? Thanks for any info.. Tom
  5. Thanks John! Very cool lens that has been a blast to play with! Tom
  6. Edward Hopper would be impressed: http://www.allmodern.com/iCanvas-Nighthawks-1942-by-Edward-Hopper-Painting-Print-on-Canvas-13378-L1318-K~ICAN7811.html?refid=GX46109958796-ICAN7811_10857178&device=c&ptid=104326425916&PiID[]=10857178&gclid=CLqBtJ-D-8MCFRBafgodOLUAUg Tom
  7. Thank you Rob! Yes I was thinking along the same lines of having a lens that is a flat plane and the pose slider wraps it into a sphere. Can you explain what "setting" or "attribute" or "relationship" it is that makes the sphere distort the lens? Is it the refraction setting? or...? If I knew what setting to use I could try the idea you suggested.. Thanks, Tom
  8. Yes, Matt Campbell's lens is the one I am playing with. It has cool curvature but didn't seem quite as extreme as the 5 point perspective. I don't know how he created the lens but the question would be, can a lens be created where you can animate the amount of curvature from 2 point to 5 point? Start a scene as if it is the normal human angle of vision and then morph over time into this cool and weird 5 point perspective POV. Just thought it would be intriguing from a visual point of view. Tom
  9. I have been playing around with the cool Fisheye lens project that some kind person has posted online for Hash users. It has some cool sliders where you can adjust various things like: 1) Wide Angle 2) Lens Distance 3) Bigger 4) Whiskey Glass 5) facet After going through an art book retrospective on "Perspective" I came across this picture reminding me about the different kinds of specific Perspectives (see attached). I don't know how the person who created the Fisheye lens did it, but is it possible to create a lens whereby you could use a "pose slider" to shift between 2 and 5 point perspective? To simplify the question... As the number of vanishing points increases, the curvature increases. Can a Pose slider increase the number of vanishing points appearing? Thanks for any ideas! Tom
  10. I was setting it in the model settings....Toon Lines etc. in the render settings it works fine. many thanks! Tom
  11. 18.0h SSE4 64 bit. Attached is a picture of the interface: thanks! Tom
  12. Cool! BTW- I tried playing with Bias but it only lets me set it to 100..and no higher... Can you explain the trick? Many thanks! Tom
  13. I am aware that AM toon render can control the thickness of the line. Can you also control that line so that it is possible to taper it from one end to the other? (see attached graphic which shows a line created in a graphics program and some curtains which were rendered in AM) Thanks for any feedback! Tom
  14. Must be my graphics card... Intel 965/963 appears to have other people complaining on other graphics sites. Although it is interesting that I can decal easily in v17... Tom
  15. I updated the graphics card driver and things seem faster and better all around (Thanks for the tip!). I am pretty familiar with decals and tried adding them from the v18 models window with a right click...same result... the program hung up. What I have resorted to is using v17 to build decaled models and then I can import them into v18 with no problems. (?) That seems to tell me there is some bug in the newer version that just needs a little tweeking. I guess I will just use my workaround (of v17) until things get fixed. Thanks for all the help! Tom
  16. Thanks for taking the time Rob! All of your suggestions are excellent. I just upgraded to 18g and tried different formats and all do the same thing. The bitmaps will load into the "Images" section of the Project workspace and then AM hangs up when I drag those images into the model window (whether as a rotoscope or a decal). I must have a wimpy graphics card or something. ANy idea what might be causing the hangup? Many thanks! Tom
  17. Hello- I am runnings AM 18.0 f SSE3 on Windows 7 with an Intel Q 965/963 graphics card. It is an HP computer (bought second hand). My Animation Master "Real Time Driver " is open GL. I tried "Open GL3" but the system said that failed. I can import images into the Project workspace but when I drag then into the model window to apply as a decal I get the attached error message? Has anyone else experienced this and is there a setting I can change to make it not crash? many thanks for any insights! Tom
  18. The only trademark that shows up in a USA governent search is "Animaster"... by a film company from Taiwan
  19. I'll have to check out "Inside Herman's Head", sounds interesting... thanks! Tom
  20. Hello Hashers- Just noticed a blurb about the upcoming new Pixar Movie, "Inside Out" coming out next summer. Looks pretty funny when you consider the premise and the voice actors. I don't know if anyone at Pixar saw this terrifc short: (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuyB7NO0EYY) before they formulated their movie, but both concepts look great. Tom
