  1. I think he has to talk with the dentist! Perhaps he has no money to pay the bill?
  2. http://www-groups.dcs.st-and.ac.uk/~histor...ns/Babbage.html This was an underestimate. The construction of modern computers, logically similar to Babbage's design, have changed the whole of mathematics and it is even not an exaggeration to say that they have changed the whole world. Are you relatives?
  3. A fantastic, wonderful raindrop! But there is the music? A raindrop having a mouth but saying nothing! Bad teeth! Why?
  4. Have a look on radiosity! http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14231 Do it - start the rendering before going to bed and you will have a nice image in the morning hopefully. Like this: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14214
  5. Sure I got your point.... So I pointed out that you - yourself was found of songs and to do them you have to move your mouth a bit. The movie - the chicken race - was mostly a race - that is what every movie have - a cop hunting some victims - more or less drastic - sadistic - funny... Yes a race - that is a must... but to have some story around the race you have to tell something. For sure you can tell things just moving the body - body language - but it so much easier using words - sentences.... And the public - you and I - love to listen to a history. Being able to tell a history you can get attention - without getting attention - why animate?
  6. Shaun Freeman has done something good on the Sigraphs Forum 2004 and it is on a CD - “Face Rigs with CP Weights” Why cannot A:M let it out from the record? to the web... so we all can take part of it? But there seems to be some difficult parts! http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?&act=ST&f=1&t=13454 http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=12633 Or perhaps do a new version of the tutorial a bit easier to understand? There have to be some rigging expert to do this easy rig... I would like to see some Donald Duck rig as a newbie rig - or Fat Guy rig for the mouth - just having nine mouth poses to do the lipsync and some other poses. Stripped of as many splines as possible... a Newbie face... Looking at your head model - I believe it ought to be done in some other way - extrusions around the eyes splined together with an extrusion around the mouth... The way I did it in my lipsynd-rig tutorial I believe is simpliest and best but I am no expert... just a newbie master...
  7. I have also done a lipsync tutorial not using bones - perhaps it can be something: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14010 The problem with this project I understand is that itsjustme are doing this in a sophisticated way - and it is hard work I belive - and he is going to do a tutorial and has already done some: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=13963 Perhaps wait and see what is coming out... But still I see this iniative as good - I believe - you can do some simple face rigging - mouth rigging - for some simple characters - you do not need all those possibilites always. So I hope someone good at rigging can give some tips about rigging a simple - face - mouth. Some kind of newbie rigging tips. And I believe their are many on the Forums that like to learn a little do it yourself rigging... Because looking at Willis mouth rigging perhaps not that hard to understand - but there are some pro and cons doing a rigging - not known by everyone. And just how to begin - how to think before beginning - there are lots of questions about the basics in rigging...
  8. Yes a pilot in debriefing... But what I tried to tell you - it is hard - I believe impossible - to do realistic 3D and 4D with the time - it is still harder. You have to accept that your model always are going to look as a doll... and play with that... making a story and the public will accept they are looking at a doll - a bit realistic doll - but still a doll... And in reality pilots are dolls - they are just used of other guys - and they do not understand it themselves. This debriefing room - there is not to see - perhaps having modeled a room his movements would be not the same.
  9. This is really good. Saw some little jump. But what I have been trying to say. Not knowing the circumstances around this character it is really hard to tell if it is good or not. Not lifting his feet. Sitting down in some curious way. And sitting not looking at you. Sure he is a part of a story, but I believe, we want to see the story and hear it. And it will be so much easier to tell. And the real thing is - I believe - trying to do realism in 3D - 4D animated 3D - that is unrealistic - you got to have such an good renderer - and the eye is so clever to find details to critisice - so you will never do it - Animation in 3D is still Donald Duck and Mickey the Mouse - you have to accept - play with the limits - this guy is really good done modeled and animated - but still he is a doll and he will be that... not having a super-computer and a staff to do all muscles... So I think better accept this dolls movements and try to tell a story with some sound and lipsync... action... more action... circumstances... driving forces... conflicts... that is the way I believe...
  10. Just waiting for some lipsynced sound from this fellow. Not wanting to meet him in reality - perhaps in virtuality. Sure very good modeling! but the hat does not fit... and I believe a little much lip-stick... Waiting for his replies... what is going to say?
  11. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?act=A...=post&id=103016 Yes looking drunk - going on the loo - so drunk he have forgotten to pull down the trousers! Hope you have got humor, entity! In the end I believe this will be a really good one. It is so good done already. Just some sound and another chair and we will understand that he is not on the loo.
  12. I found this a very good initiative! I have been experimenting with Willis mouth rig and done a WINK tutorial on that: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14142
  13. Yes I can understand that from this too: This song is Copyrighted in U.S., under Seal of Copyright # 154085, for a period of 28 years, and anybody caught singin it without our permission, will be mighty good friends of ourn, cause we don't give a dern. Publish it. Write it. Sing it. Swing to it. Yodel it. We wrote it, that's all we wanted to do. -- Woody Guthrie PS And some lipsync can be good then animating the singing... Why do you not do some animation of Woody Guthrie singing?
  14. You have to have a look on this post: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...ndpost&p=101881 And the following ones. Sorenson codex is a part of A:M for .mov-files. Using Sorenson Squeeze you will get smaller files. divX is another very good alternative. Have a try - I look forward to LOOK AND LISTEN to your avatar!
  15. To me a dice is not taking a resolute walk mostly. They are doing the can-can on the table mostly. Or some jumping - gymnastics... Have a try with some other action - and have a look... And the dice being a character there are the eyes? And the mouth? And a dice always have some sound... Well for sure your dice is walking - but therefrom is he - she? - coming and there to parting? It will be funny - I hope - to follow the adventures of your dice.
  16. Why not say something about the Marshmallow animation? What do you like it? I think it is really good - having sound! And what do you think of his story? I believe we can discuss the story too - animating in todays world has to do a bit with our reality - what is going to happen to our planet. I took a look on your site and I can see that you are interested of our planet. http://www.jstudio.frac.dk/index.php?side=ani I think the Marshmallow animation can turn out to something good - it is not my story - but perhaps you and I can contribute to the story... for me it is about content also - content is King - perhaps you have heard that saying? And it is something else very good with the Marshmallow animation. It is introducing a character - and an environment - and a story - it will make you curious about the rest of the story!
  17. I like your work - the model is good - it is simpel - having expression. And what I really like that is - there are sound!!!!! And the character have lipsync!!!!! To me it is a must mostly if you will be able to communicate - get attention - get a public - perhaps a new Forum - for the ones that like to use sound? There is so much about sound to learn and master. And the animations - will get a public - and perhaps you can get some money. And with some good connection speed it is no problem to follow the story - Sorensen codex are good - Sorensen Squeeze program is better - and also given you Flash - and divX - that is really good. Well, I like to see what is going to happen in the movie. It looks like horror. It makes me a bit nervous. How will you continue? Animations are really strong I believe in telling stories. And the ones doing it - must have some responsibility - to what? We are living in a media society - people do not have a connection to the one telling stories - now you can tell that you caught a really big fish - telling an obvious lie - but some or many will never realize that your story was false. To me this story have some relevance: http://www.wtc7.net/ Telling that the official story is not creditable! And that is a real horror story. Burning buildings do not explode - spreading concrete dust all over the place. They have never done before! Now it was two and then the third going down - without a plane - without any good explanations - going down. And it was not in ChatLango or some place just in the mind of some author. And the consequences are terrible - chipping us all - using some none existent terrorists as an excuse! The unanswered questions are so many: http://whatreallyhappened.com/9-11BasicQuestions And the consequences so bad: http://www.rfidgazette.org/ http://www.freedomisslavery.info/index.php?cat=7&offset=3 http://www.prisonplanet.com/180304_RFID_article.html Hope your animation can be not just a private case - perhaps it can have some clues to what is happening around us?
  18. Have you had a look at my tutorial on expressions? http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=14193 You have to understand how Mod() functions always giving you the remainder of a division. Some examples: 0/3 gives the remainder 0 1/3 gives the remainder 1 2/3 gives the remainder 2 2.5/3 gives the remainder 2.5 And now we will have the same remainder 0 as before 3/3 gives the remainder 0 4/3 gives the remainder 1 5/3 gives the remainder 2 5.5 gives the remainder 2.5 And now we will have the same remainder - 0 - as twice before. Starting a new repetition. 6/3 gives the remainder 0 7/3 gives the remainder 1 Have you got it? And to use the Mod() function to get the remainder - you have to write like this: Mod(0,3) gives remainder 0 Mod(1,3) gives remainder 1 Have you got it? But we do not want to write the values ourselves - we want to get them from the position on the timeline - GetTime() gives us the position on the timeline. So if the animation is on frame 00:02:00 we will have the remainder 2 Mod(2,3) gives remainder 2 Mod(GetTime(),3) gives remainder 2 if we are at the position 00:02:00 at the timeline. Have you got it? Using 30 Frames Per Second - 30 FPS - for the animation and being on frame 00:02:29 GetTime() will give us the decimal value 2.9 - about that--- But we want to have the Pose set to about a hundred percent on that frame. So we have to make a division with 3 to get 1 because 1 that is 100 percent. On frame 00:00:00 Mod(GetTime(),3)/3 gives 0 On frame 00:00:15 Mod(GetTime(),3)/3 gives 0.5/3 that is about 16 percent On frame 00:01:00 Mod(GetTime(),3)/3 gives 1/3 that is about 0.33 or in percent 33 percent On frame 00:02:29 Mod(GetTime(),3)/3 gives 2.9/3 that is nealy 100 percent On frame 00:03:00 Mod(GetTime(),3)/3 gives 0 and that is 0 percent The repetion from 0 percent to a hundred percent starts all over again Have you got it?
  19. I have done a WINK tutorial! I am uploading it on a new topic: Tutorial on using an Expression for a Pose
  20. No - that is not correct... I explained it to you.... Mod() is a function letting you know the remainder of a division. Mod(12,10) gives the value 2 as a result.... because 12/10 equals 1 with the remainder 2. Mod(22,10) gives the value 2 as result... because 22/10 equals 2 with the remainder 2 Mod(32,10) gives the value 2 as result because 32/10 equals 3 with the remainder 2. So you have to experiment... not using 10 that will give you a period of 10 seconds for the repetitions instead using some other value giving different repetion periods...
  21. This one is better... It is repeating every fifth second going from 100 percent to 0 percent. The GetTime() function gives the time in decimals so with 30 FPS 00:00:00 gives 0 and divided by 5 gives 0 00:00:15 gives 0.5 and divided by 5 gives 0.1 00:01:00 gives 1 and divided by 5 gives 0.2 00:01:15 gives 1.5 ... 00:04:15 gives 4.5 00:05:00 gives 5 and divided by 5 gives 1.0 and the remainder is 0 and the Mod() function gives the remainder 0 at time 00:00:00 Mod(GetTime(),5) gives 0 00:05:15 gives 5.5 and divided by 5 gives 1.1 and Mod() gives the remainder and that is 0.1 and everything starts again... doing the same as in the first 5 seconds..... OK? You got? Pose1= 2*Mod(GetTime(),5)/10 gets the ball to decrease from 100 to 0 - every fifth second starting all over again Pose1= 1-2*Mod(GetTime(),5)/10 gets the ball to increase from 0 to 100 - every fifth second starting all over again
  22. Yes I know - I tried to explain - their is no real documentation - I have found - or Rodney could tell about - and I have not found any OUTPUT window in A:M so I can debug - my formula you have to experiment a little bit with yourself. I can do it too - it is funny - but in the same time with guys like heyvern - it is not so funny - trying to give some help.
  23. Well I tried to give some answer to a question about using Expressions: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...ndpost&p=102551 I can do a tutorial on this! But Why? I have already done so many! And their must be others - who can do the tutorials on Expressions! Here is the picture showing how to use the formula to get a pose to repeat:
  24. Yes, they do... thanks I did not see that myself. But what are you thinking about sound and lipsync. I believe the Forum members have to tackle it. Now it is most images and some movements - but sound and lipsync seldom. What do you say? A new Forum for sound and animation? Just like the Artistic Rendering Forum? I think that Forum is more or less dead! A Sound Forum? I believe their are so many here interested in music - and people having stories to tell - using lipsynched characters - perhaps a Forum for that - trying to get A:M useful - you can earn some money on it? TV ads without sound and lipsync they are as dead as Disney animations without sound and lipsync. Why not do something constructive? Lipsync your charicature and inspire others to do it themselves!
  25. YES I DID IT! I got a reaction - from the heart? or was it from the stomach? - on my showcase. That is the thing. Disney understood it - you have to have sound and lip synched characters - if your animations will have some attention - some public. Who wants to look at a stumb Mickey the Mouse or Donald Duck? No one I guess... Why so little sound and a lip sync on the contributions here? Well it is about bytes to download. But with a good bandwidth no problems - Google has understood it - you can upload your videos to them - to the Google server. And you can use Flash and you can Squeeze your movies - and they will get really small - most surfers can hear them - see them. A telly without sounds needs to be repaired!!!! That is true for computers too! lacking sound. Let us try to have more sound and lip sync in the movies - that I believe is the best for a prospering A:M future. I have only tried to do it simple - the lipsync and the modeling - trying to show - you do not need all that modeling - sure good modeling are the best - but it is the sound that gets the emotions coming from the stomach or from the heart - and without emotions - it is only brain - grey clumps of tissue! Sounds are Colors!
