  1. Nice model, and I really really really LIKE the dress. Good work, Nancy!!! Keep us posted Drvarceto
  2. Congratulations to Alonso!!! GREAT TUTORIALS! Although I am way beyond them, I'll read them all very carefully: 'repetitio est...', but also for the quality of the tutorials (Alonso manages to put inside even keyboard shortcuts and all that users might find useful) I have not seen such a nice (and complete) introductory tut ever since 'I am walking' Bravo Alonso! Drvarceto
  3. Well, of course there is some interest! Here for example! I always take a look at your projects (not that I always understand how it was done, but one can always hope that in time...) Thank you! Drvarceto
  4. This Gets Better and Better and Better!!! Promissing new standard in rigging (as long as I am concerned) One (probably stupid) question! Setup looks quite complicated... in your oppinion, how long would it take (rough estimate) to transfer this rig to another character (sans smart skinning) Keep us posted!!! Drvarceto
  5. It is a honor, Dear Sir to have one such a heavyweight animator in our midst... Drvarceto uh... YES! and nice site too!!!
  6. Itsjustme, I've had some time to play with your rig... I DO HAVE TO SAY THIS! I am amazed how something this good can pass allmost unnoticed in the forum! HEY PEOPLE!!! LOOK HERE!!! THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS TO BE NOTICED!!! Really, really, great rig!!! And it is getting better and better with every iteration! I cannot see limits of what can be done with it in the hands of some good animator... I would like to see it with some character other than Thom, so we could see what can be done in the character with facial (and other features) PLEASE, keep us posted Drvarceto just one little thing: when right arm is somewhere about 67 % into fist something weard happens to the fingers...
  7. I would only slap some chrome material for the handles and decal the name of the factory... That's it! Drvarceto
  8. I just couldn't resist to post this one... It is not rendered, just a real - time preview, but it is an action!!! Hope that you'll like this one... Drvarceto p.s this animation is far from over!!! It has just begun!!! There will be blood' n' guts everywhere afore it is finished!!! MIKKE_4_Seq.mov
  9. HERE IT IS!!! Drama! Confrontation! Clash of the Titans! Light of the Ligtsabres! ... um, here it is... The sequel shot! Drvarceto p.s. Thanks Nancy, I'll have that in mind MIKKE_3seqB.mov
  10. Where is the star?!? I miss the star! Drvarceto
  11. Here is long overdue update to the animation... I'll try to post its sequel in a few hours (when the rendering is done), and maybe even the next sequence, and then (in a next few days) I'll try to add music and sound effects and see how the things will came out... So, here we are: (not much action in this one) Drvarceto MIKKE_3seqA.mov
  12. Yeah, it is perfectly possible that this planet might have two stars... However: (Physics has proven that) Due the complex interplay of gravitational forces, those planets (in dual star systems) tend to transform to the kind of carbohydrate compound in the popular language known as plastic ;oP Drvarceto (just joking)
  13. Second thought: If the planet is in dark (as stated previously), I think that its look would get a boost from the lights of the big cities on the surface... Drvarceto
  14. First, obvious and simple answer that popped into mind: - star is behind the planet... so, planet should be mostly in shadow and only have one rim of light at the edge... ...or, The Enterprise has one hell of the headlights!!! Drvarceto
  15. Yeah, I want to know if there are any new developments? Drvarceto
  16. I think that any of the jaws are O.K. However, I must say that head is waaay too small behind the ears... The line where ear starts (I don't know if I am clear) rougly splits head in half (look photo reference of somebody bald) Other than that: excellent work (unbealivible for the first try) Drvarceto
  17. Hey! Thanks! This is what is called 'saved in the last moment' - the short movie that I started, I mean... Thing is... I started it as an animation exercise, but I think that it should last for about 3 mins (a waaaay lot of work), and having in mind that I cannot promote it (Mickey is... well... Mickey) I felt that there is no point in continuing the work on it... for simple reason that it probably will stay in this forum. Specularity will be dealt with... in time, when I get to it. I intended for the 30's look, beacuse I felt that design of the character, which is simplicity itself will help me to focus on the main points of the animation, and not the unnecessary make up... re short snippets... I don't have web site where I can publish longer stuff... I haven't tried to make link to my site on the geocities... will that work? Thank you for the comments! It kinda filled my bateries up... Expect 3rd sequence in a few days (it will be longer shot that will make everything clear) Drvarceto
  18. When we are at it... (help, I mean...) Did you see my WIP anims? http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16271 I thought that I made a good start, but then... only two responses... I sure hope that thy were perfect, left everyone speechless and no one had anything to say, but... I am desperate... (your oppinion, please) Drvarceto
  19. nixie, GOOD work! You have made great textures, great looking character! just two things that come to mind: 1. For a goblin, he has really good looking tan - too healthy looking for his own good ;oP 2. I think that (if I was modeling), I would give him bigger belly - more goblin like... keep us posted Drvarceto
  20. Are my anims that bad ?!? I felt that I did just a good job and I can see that people bothered to download them... but ... no comments ... boo ... hooo ... snifff.... I am aware that I shouldn't whine, but I put some serious effort here ... sniff sniff Drvarceto p.s. thanks Michael
  21. COOL IDEA! It never occured to me that 3DS models can be split in parts and used this way Thanks! Drvarceto
  22. Second sequence... In the meanwhile I've rerigged the face od the Light and animation artefacts (pieces of muth entering head etc will be gone - in the next rendering) I am redesigning the characers, so that in the finished short they will look diferently (and hopefully I could use it for personal promotion) I hope that you'll like this... (Your comments please!) Drvarceto MIKKE_2seq_HQ.mov
  23. I think that Vern got things right... About half of humanity has one, but people tend to wear them behind the clothes - and there is not controversy about that ;oP... Character with all the things in the open would probably get the unintended publicity (it would create more publicity than if it wore clothes) but I think of the wong kind... Just my thoughts... and again, decisions... decisions... Drvarceto
  24. Here is the movie! I always get problems when I upload the files... One more thing! there should be some volumetric fog etc in the backgound, and light setup is ... ehem... not yet finished, but I think that you'll get the idea... Drvarceto
  25. This should be viewed as fan movie (characters and concepts are undoubtably copyrighed), byt I came out with the idea and I had to make it... I made the characters long time ago, but I had them re - rigged for the animation... I've animated first two sequences and then I had other things to do, sooooo, this post is probably the way to get things started again... As I finish the sequences I will post them, and of course everyone around here is invited for comment (PLEASE) So, first sequence comes your way! Drvarceto p.s. no voices, sound effects (or any sound for that matter) yet! MIKKE_1seq_HQ.mov
