  1. Not sure what the resolution is for the retina display, but certain that A:M can handle it-- See my post "Resolution Independence"
  2. Yes--I think I need to crack that open again on my next character!
  3. Here is a test in V17, using an .obj from Sculptris as a landscape, the .obj of R2D2 from 123DCatch, the Knight .mdl from the hash Library. Ambient occlusion is ON--I was happy to see that it worked with the different objects and the model! the landscape material was Bitmap Plus, applied to the imported PROP. Looks like I could have a lot of flexibility in building sets for TAR of Zandoria! --including building miniatures and capturing them with 123DCatch to use in A:M
  4. paths from Photoshop exported as .ai, even CS6, are v8 so they will work in A:M
  5. You can be the FIRST Chinese animation studio using A:M--then everyone will come to you! Anything that I can do to help, just ask!
  6. An animated map applied as diffuse, reflection, and specular
  7. Welcome back! I have some A:M tutorials on my blog and Youtube channel:
  8. I was honored to finally get to the level that my character was the mascot! Now that honor is passed to you, be proud
  9. Maybe you do the next "stalled trek", even though you aren't inspired. You have an audience and momentum--do the work. Often inspiration comes when you're working.
  10. I'm sorry to hear about your father passing away...It is very hard, I know... I am praying for you and your family. Paul will be missed in our A:M community
  11. Those blueprints from the actual sets seem like the best way to proceed, since that is what you need for your sets.
  12. Very interesting... yes- I will be interested to see R2D2 in A:M. How many photos did you take of the model. Looks like there was confusion down amidst his legs. How long did it take until 123D sent you back the model? Will there be problems in A:M due to the triangular polys? The model computes on the cloud, and you can just wait for it to load. It took a couple of minutes. I had about 30 photos--be sure to follow the tutorial, you have to pick points in some photos to help 123D recognize the features. It did have a few trouble areas, where I didn't get a lot of pictures. Export as OBJ and load into A:M as Prop. I downloaded for work to simplify making models of some of the products that go on our displays (lots of grocery and snackfood packages)... But I'm interested in possibly photographing locations, or miniatures, and using that in A:M!
  13. So 123DCatch: I took some pictures of this R2D2 toy on my desk. Here is a look at the mesh: Here is a test rendering (in VRay [apologies, I was at work..] but I have tested in A:M):
  14. Congratulations! I'm looking forward to watching!!!
  15. Thinking about this further: I think 25% reserved for Zandoriastudios, not 50% as I first suggested... The idea is to keep the franchise going, and if other creators can come up with stories set in the world, then probably need to leave a cut for story. 25% story 25% technical direction 25% animation hmmm... music, actors, sound design.... where does that come from? 20% story 5% actors 25% technical 20% animation 5% music, sounds What are your ideas on budget? What breakdown was proposed for TWO and SO?
  16. Yep--I just noticed that the other day playing with a model that I made in 123dcatch [which seems to play nicely with A:M!!] http://www.123dapp.com/catch
  17. yeah, I guess... I already have a Zandoria channel, which is where I plan on posting the shorts. Eventually, I hope to garner fans--and that those fans will by something to show their support.(?) Ironically, I was browsing Core77 today and saw a banner ad for Cafepress: The banner featured the Tar of Zandoria mug! http://core77.com/
  18. I just looked at my Cafepress and realized I haven't sold anything since 2008!!! --I better come up with another business plan!
  19. Sorry to hear about the troubles that brought you here, but glad you are here nevertheless!
  20. Just got back from honeymoon...Still settling in. This project is on my mind all the time, and figuring out how to break out from my day job and create an animation studio...I've seen several kickstarter campaigns that have raised enough money, that I think it could be a viable route to launch this. But that may not be the only approach to take.
  21. I'm on board! Good luck Mark!!!
