  1. http://kck.st/14tgJQ3 Day 6--only 25 days to go, and I really need your support! I hope you will at least share the link (but a PLEDGE is nice too)--Thanks!
  2. The surprise for me is Facebook! I kinda thought that my friends and family would at least SHARE the link! I'm on day 3 and 5 people have shared the link....
  3. Thanks everyone--I think we are off to good start
  4. Congratulations on reaching your funding, Mark! Rodney, Thanks! I hope you will help spread the word!
  5. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/665995...tar-of-zandoria OK here we go!!! Please help me by posting this on your Facebook, Twitter, Linked-In or anywhere you can think of to get the word out! I have 30 days to raise the funding, and the key is spreading the word! When I finish this series, I will release the assets to the community as open source, so Animation:Master users will all benefit when this project succeeds. At the $50 pledge level I am including a data DVD with the characters, sets, props and choreographies from the first episode to play with (in addition to the DVD of the first episode, with making-of behind the scenes). So I really hope the community will get behind this project. For only $1 you can pledge your support and I will thank you and list you in the credits as a supporter! Thank you for your help in bringing TAR of Zandoria to life!
  6. LOL, so true! About all we could expect agreement on is that we should use A:M
  7. I made some small grammatical tweaks, and edited the video to also show some art and animation. I've just submitted! It is exhilarating and scary all at the same time
  8. M Dot Strange interviewed me for the Forever Alone Film Making Podcast: http://www.deadlyproductionsrecords.com/po...irysomethin.mp3
  9. Thanks for the feedback everybody Rodney: I don't know if the 50/50 idea is important now--That was when I was thinking about how to create this without funding, just collaboration.... Obviously I will have to figure out the terms of an open-source license before I release everything, but that will be after the series has ended. The video was intimidating--but the kickstarter people recommend doing one. I was originally just going to voiceover a montage. But I decided to just talk into the camera and keep it brief. I do talk about other projects that I've done in the bio page, with links to portfolio and blog so if someone is not familiar with who I am, I think they will be able to get an idea.
  10. I think the kickstarter link being in this thread is mixing the message a little... You HAVE to list risks for the project. I have just finished editing my video and added it to the page: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/665995...?token=8f2a9771
  11. should I add something like +$5.00 for shipping outside the US? [edit] I added additional shipping for outside of US
  12. Well, Facebook and email--hopefully people will spread the link. I'm considering a banner ad on Cartoon Brew but don't know if it is worth it...
  13. Here is a preview link for the Tar of Zandoria Kickstarter: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/665995...?token=8f2a9771 I still have to create my video, which will be a montage with concept art, test animations, turn-arounds of the models and ME being all geeky and excited about this project (I think I will have to hold my conan sword while I'm talking!) If anyone has some feedback, it will be appreciated. I'm planning to submit by April 1
  14. I haven't moved the pivot, but have gone into muscle-mode to add secondary movement, like belly jiggle. Could it be something as simple as hitting the spacebar to refresh?
  15. Been thinking more and more about making some kind of "open source license" for these characters, props, sets. I'm planning a Kickstarter that I hope will get some attention and fund some of it. It is keeping me awake at night I think the "behind the scenes" of the DVD will be the most appealing to the people who would back it--and having Tar and other characters and production files to play with will be a good pledge reward. I'm also thinking about using the forum the way we did with the Oz stuff, but not members only, to post files and in-process stuff, storyboards, etc. That would bring all of the advantages of the open source movement into the project--people might make improvements to the models and repost them. People could contribute at what ever level of interest they had, and become part of the credits. Compensation would be a share out of the production budget, or share in profits based on percentages for type of work. If I get funding, then I can put this plan into action without feeling like I'm looking for people to work for free...
  16. Ninja version! I modeled the hood, but just modified the bump and color to get the pants and sleeves. The background is just a rotoscope, because I think layers and rotoscopes are how I will do most of the locations (nice because I can render the complete frame and not have to render in passes).
  17. yes, I just edited the first post: Once I get the ninja hoods, helmets, etc on the variations of the plush hyena, it may not matter if there is any hair. Or I could just use hair on the animals that have a mane or beard and just leave the body hair plush.
