  1. That does look good so far. You are very close to having the dad walk down. Very nice!
  2. The logo looks fantastic, I wouldn't know how to animate this, but if I come up with something I will tell you. Good work! @John: They wouldn't have any public school trips in this country, but I am sure they could have Christian School or Sunday School. It is an interesting idea, but I better stick to just commenting on the 3d stuff, that's all i'm qualified to speak on! Good work.
  3. Thanks for the compliment, I will post some more stuff up on this thing soon. It is coming very slowly but surely.
  4. The work you have done so far on the textures looks really nice. What lighting set-up are you using? That will affect the look of the textures, also. I look forward to seeing the entire thing done.... Then on to modeling the train!
  5. Bravo! I can't tell you guys enough how impressed with the musical selection. That has to be my absolute favorite moment in all of opera. It still amazes me how much that opera holds up against the later ones by Verdi and Wagner. Not many from that period can. The singing was well done and the fake translations were HILARIOUS. I was dying when the shampoo said "Si" and the subtitles said "SEE". That was killing me. Great job with GPO, Jeff Lee. I had forgotten about the On2 codec thing, you seem to get a lot out of 11MB.
  6. The length of the opeing shot is actually for musical purposes. I've got a plan for that which should make it seem better in time. Thanks for the crit! Here is Gnosh's number 2 guy, Flin. He is the greatest warrior on Deutreenum and considers himself Gnosh's protector:
  7. Here is a new character I modeled for this project yesterday. His name is Glix and he is a droid that Gnosh (the main character) found on a garbage barge. His past is mysterious because of faulty memory, but occasionally he is able to recover lost memory blocks. Meet Glix:
  8. Your room is looking just fabulous. The only nitpicks I have are almost to minor to mention. First, if your animation is going to have as close a look at the top of the bricks on the fireplace as the render above implies, I would make a decal for the top of the bricks so they don't have that streaky look. I know that's really nitpicky, but it seems to me like you want this animation to look very professional. Second, and FAR more subjective on my part, is that I personally think the carpet should be a more different color than the walls. I don't know why I think that, it just strikes me. What would look really, really nice would be a nice hardwood floor. keep up the good work, I'll watch the animation so far when i am home from work.
  9. Did you guys use video rotoscopes for the animating process? If so, who was doing the fight choreography? This is a very interesting looking project. I look forward to seeing more.
  10. Not bad at all. I like the connect spline look much better. have you tested the bends yet? I am always looking for a better way to model that will result in fewer creases and less hassel with smart skin.
  11. That was a very good idea! I wish i had sound at work! You look to have used some powerful tools well, that is the best way to learn this software, keep up the good work! PS. The raptor's tail was cracking me up... it was almost like those old rubber lizards I played with as a child.
  12. That looks fabulous! The one thing I would add are the islands that the pumps sit on. There is usually large steel barriers to prevent nuts from running into the pumps also. Good job!
  13. That is pretty trippy. I will definately check that out! Thanks!
  14. I think I would like in on this too! If I were lucky that would get me back on track with the upgrades so I stop buying them in October!
  15. If creepy is what you are going for... go far those 3d ones. They are giving me the heebie-jeebies. Even the color scheme is kind of... freaky.
  16. That really does look nice. I have no crit of the leaves, they are very cool. The trunk and branches need some more roughness. Perhaps add another bump map with turblence applies or some other effect. I would also vary the color of the wood more. Very good modeling!
  17. Hey thanks! I'll check out your file. I have been wanting to learn more about fan bones. Thanks so much for the help!
  18. That's not too bad! The model and motion look okay to me. Maybe we could see it with a different background? Keep it up.
  19. That makes me feel better! I think I can work with it and I need to get busy animating. Thanks for the advice. I thought I had done something wrong.
  20. If anyone out there who is a rigging guru wants to give me some pointers on what I have done wrong with this guy, I am ready to hear some suggestions. I used to 2001 skeleton included on the CD and rigged him according to the instructions. The trouble is he is acting peculiar when I apply some of the actions on the CD to test the rig. Is that the actions or my rigging work? His knees act very funny. I also think my hand rig is screwed up. The thumb doesn't curl. Anyone who wants to look at Gnosh can feel free. I need all the help I can get. Gnosh.mdl
  21. I actually might compose a few themes of music as I go, but the score itself won't be composed until last. Thanks for posting!
  22. Believe it or not there is a starfield. Sorenson pretty much makes it so dim it's invisible. but I can see it on the TV when i test it there, so hopefully it'll be ok! Thanks for your comments.
  23. A quick tumble in the washing machine should clear that right up!
