  1. Great fun, neat idea - great character ! Its stuff like this that sparks inspiration. (I can't believe I haven't tried Newton plug-in yet)
  2. Another area that takes up render times are some procedural materials versus using decals. E.G. some of the dark tree materials take an obscene amount of time to render (20x) when they could easily be duplicated using a decal. I'm not sure if you're using any materials (the brick?, concrete?), but this is for future reference. And of course there's hair; using final render (no multipass - usually shorter) versus # of passes for multipass; size of frame; % frame that's transparent; density of particles, etc. Those are a partial list of other areas which impact render times (not in your current scene), but also might lead you at some point if you don't want to change the components of your scene to consider post-compositing to cut down render time. (Caution: I'm an impatient slobby hack compared to Yves sublime perfection)
  3. Hmmmm.... I just sat & watched that over & over, and then all of a sudden I had this urge to drink diet pepsi...like thousands & thousands of diet pepsi's.... Nnnn-neat effect - very useful, very pretty, and oh yeah... buy stock in diet pepsi.
  4. another word: fabulous
  5. What I find very disturbing is the inability of kids being numbed and dumbed in not being able to distinguish between cartoon fake violence versus the reality of a real execution snuff film. They are not the same. It is very unsettling to realize that today's future are being programmed to not recognize the difference. I remember being told when hiding under my seat at the theatre, watching a cowboy shoot-em up: "it's not real - it's only a movie". I sure didn't want to see this hanging. I have no love of Saddam, and his evils. Yet I found myself cringing, having empathy, feeling really queasy and embarassed for the inhumanity, & mob mentality at the execution, as well as watching a real execution/murder being conducted in the most primitive and humiliating way. I have to wonder if I would have felt this way if it had been real footage of Hitler being executed (which he wasn't). And so, this also points out my own hyprocrisy. I want to pretend that this stuff doesn't happen. Just like I pretend that the meat that I eat wasn't once living. I know I would be a vegetarian in a flash if I had to kill my own food.
  6. Terrific Card Marc - very fun stuff - Happy Holiday to you too
  7. Looks terrific - nice job - nice & peachy
  8. No telephone? - and I thought I was a luddite...(hee hee) http://carbon.cudenver.edu/~mryder/itc_data/luddite.html Not sure what the "Knowledge" button will bring up ...do you mean About? (resume, Background? Curriculum Vitae?) Though I must say if I saw the "knowledge" button - that might be the first button I would push to see what you meant - so maybe it's a good thing to have it not precisely clear.
  9. Maybe Nancy might take a swing at the hammer. That'd be interesting. Uh-huh...and if I did that my husband (an HOn30 model railroader, with ultra-detailed reality oriented nutticisms) would be outside my office burning crosses with all the other old guys. Tho, I must admit, it would be fun.
  10. Your mother was a cricket & your father regurgitates Bacardi & Sambuca ? Sorry Niels - Yardie has a point - but I could't resist. I figured the harm is already done. Maybe we need a Party Section added to the Forum?
  11. If you want to say "for example" then one can use the abbreviation: e.g. = for example = comes from the latin "exempliar gratis" - I am not exactly sure of the latin derivation. or sometimes you can use i.e. = id est (latin) = that is. Or meaning "that is to say" E.g., if one needs to say something a little clearer, i.e., then one usually can phrase it differently. EDIT:(I just noticed itsjustme post - I type too slow, i.e, actually I think too slow, well, ...actually he cheated - he looked it up)
  12. periodic amplitude ?
  13. The sneeze was great - but I did wonder about the walk - I just assumed you weren't done with the walk
  14. I think I liked the still - it was very interesting. Not sure what I'm supposed to be seeing in the animation - I think I like it better without displacement? but I can't really tell what I'm looking at. Your old age must be catching up with me.
  15. I only see 1 frame - which is a definitely interesting frame - is this supposed to be animated?
  16. Then render your 1 still or however many stills to tga format. Import tga into AE.
  17. You can create avi's, mov's (uncompressed is best) - but best is to do a tga sequence. Mov's seem to be the slowest - I prefer avi or tga - but I only have AE 4.1
  18. Yes quite nice, Mr Doodle-Gnome-Guy. Hmmmm...now why do I smell Newtonian Penguin Bowling in the wind?
  19. Do we have a forum for you or what? Go to: Hash, Inc. Forums > Resources > Jobs Board > Help Wanted or: http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showforum=99 Or pick some other forum - depending on what kind of help you're requiring, e.g new user works well for getting answers
  20. That's terrific - They could look great in some of the witch sequences, Yoop or loon sequences in TWO if they were rigged Walking Enchanted creepy trees. (use the 2001 rig for a test?) of course, you know who you're talking to
  21. We'll be waiting for you - Take care - Nancy
  22. Very cute. Another John Special. (No Pigs on my Hannukah Bush. Nope, not this year)
  23. If you don't need your path animation to actually be true to some physical system, then you can use the ease channel to create easily (ha ha - get it?) any acceleration, deceleration effect you want. Eg for a path animation that runs from frames 0-24, and you want rates to change at frame 12 create a path constrain an object to path set ease to 0 at frame 0 set ease to 100 at frame 24 go into the channel editor for the ease channel (of the constraint) Insert keyframe at frame 12. Change ease to to the percentage you want at frame 12. Show bias handles - play with bias handles at frame 12 till the curve looks like you want.
  24. looks terrific - love the sparklies - very artistic BUT it needs an Angel Cow or Pig at the top (hee hee) - kidding - looks great
  25. Hi Bruce - You wouldn't have vers 11b by any chance? I'm sure Hash would let you upgrade for $99. No need to keep changing your forum name, and posting in different sections. We see ya. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?s=&am...st&p=206109
