  2. this is a bit rough but uses the same idea as the fast water bones and expression to controls psoition of patches need to slow down the waves to make this look good but here is a rough idea scrub slowily and it looks okay qt ~500k rug.mov
  3. project file and decal I think chain link inside the framework of the fencing could easily be done this way fence.zip
  4. tried a cookie cutter image fence.mov
  5. latest version of aftereffects
  6. Got a chance to play with the latest version of AE so I combined that with the newest release of AM..v11r This is one place I think animating in the chor would be necesssary Oh AE attempt on a layer in the chor just a goofy PS file with a few effects Tinkering as usual Gnome testae.mov
  7. I think I messsed up on the question but got my brain going with this only 37k flares in objects and volumetric light at the right scrub through slowly to get the real effect project file available v11q lights.mov
  8. kühles großes ausgezeichnetes johnl3d
  9. platter controlled by a pose slider second bone really only needed to make it easier to animate have fun

  12. Nice modeling and use of lights on the model "crashing" you should mention on what type of machine Mac PC amount of memory video card etc and send it to support
  13. your right I wasn't sure what was wrong but something just didn't look right well not sure if I'll continue this it was another one of my quick tests...but thanks if I do play more it would be to add wings and maybe some eyes
  14. I was working on a few thinks today and realized I had not used the setup machine much so I made a quick dinosaurish creature and tried to rig it and use the setup machine. It took me a few tries to get the bones assigned correct but here is my 30 frame action . It doesn't look too bad when it loops or does it comments on this or any of my excessive posts welcome tinkering dino.mov
  15. and here is the project less the decal called newlogo and the sprite that is on the cd you can skip the newlogo file when loading and find the sprite file on the cd when loading and you should be all set the sprites are the white things that get unloaded best I could do in about 20-30 minutes also go read the manual and view the tuts saucer.zip
  16. Just a thought have you done any of the exercises in the book I think a lot of what you're asking should be covered there. I know it is not fun to read the manual and do the excercises but there are even downloadable videos of these on the hash site to aid you visually. Decals are like the decals on old plastic models and/or stickers you make a decal to show a picture on a certain part of a model then following the direction in the book or through a tut apply it where you would like it the easiest way to post a wip is output the render to a quicktime file even if its one frame then upload it from your machine when doing the wip part of forum. At the bottom it show a box and a browse button browse on your machine to find the file and then it will be upload when you post the door could be done with a percentage pose very simple if you have done the exercises sprites are pictures that an emitter (fancy name for a patch or group of patches) can emit or shoot out look on the cd under data materials particles and you should find sprite examples saucer.mov
  17. Ken can't take credit for animation its the yawn on the cd
  18. Sorry this is just another trial but I like the idea..something else I haven't played with aglow.mov

Also trying AM_fBm combiner that was part of the free demo group. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=8233 Used it for effect and tree bark and clouds. comments of the effect welcome newbig3.mov
  20. glad to help or confuse... johnl_3d
  21. ddavis It depends on what tweaks you mean ...I've changed color and a few other properties under tweaks so I guess yes I have... but there are some that don't animate or at least not very well. Which tweaks on whcih materials? ps For the Mac users you can get great effects with little effort from regular combiners I posted a extremely weird (maybe) example of what you can do here THis should work on a MAC or PC http://johnl.inform.net/pages/effects.htm with the project but its V11 Q
  22. Well darktree is not available for the mac but you can still do similar thing with the regular materials available on the hash cd. I'll update this later with an example
