  2. Scott - thank you, that would be it. It was under - Dynamic Options - Targeting - Stiffness -E
  3. I am refreshing my memory with the online Ref Manuel for Hair/Fur http://www.hash.com/Technical_Reference/v110/Hair.htm They refer to "Stiffness" below - I am just not seeing that setting in the Hair System or Hair Emitters properties "Stiffness: Controls how stiff or ridged each hair strand is. The stiffer the value the less affect dynamics and forces such as gravity has on the hair. This value is a percentage to adjust all the child Hair Emitter's Stiffness values." Has it been changed or located somewhere else in v14? -E
  4. Hi Djbreit - thanks for your reply, but I think you misunderstood what I was asking for. I'm not just starting out - I've been working w/ the program for a few years, and have gotten generally comfortable with modelling - I was looking for an artist that could draw a character to my description that I could use as a rotoscope to create the character. For example, one of the human characters from Ratatoulle - I just can't draw like that, or even close. Thanks - Eric
  5. Hi Rodney and John, thanks for the compliments - I have been doing website design for about 8 years- www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com I used the general layout of my website design for the 3D site.
  6. Lazlo - thanks for the 2 book links and great idea. Rodney - definately share - didn't really see anything about how to get or do the artwork is why I posted.
  7. Sure, that or you can email them to me - whatever is easier for you. info@flashawd.com
  8. Hey Brayden - I don't have an exact idea right now of what character I am going to do, but wanted to get a connection w/ an artist. Do you have anything you have done that you can email me, or a website w/ your work on it?? Thanks - E
  9. Can anyone recommend an artist for hire that could draw a character (front & side) that could be used as a rotoscope? I have to search the internet for pics when I create a character, since my drawing skill is limited to a bad stick figure. It really limits me to what I can create. Thanks - Eric
  10. Just finished rendering the short anim for the gorilla model and stuck it up on my site w/ the 360 and some final images. Thanks again for answering all my forum posts while working on it. It's the 3rd model over on the top. =www.3dcharacteranimation.biz -Eric
  11. Nathan - I appreciate your advice - that is the kind of thing I need to concentrate more on now that I am getting the modelling thing down a bit. Have a great weekend. -E
  12. Hey Marcos - nothing like making an idiot out of myself in front of hundreds. Let's try this again - here is a wireframe image of the TUCAN. I actually did know it was a Tucan... I promise. -E
  13. Hi - after a few character models, I think I'm finally starting to get the hang of this program.... sort of I only have his beak done, but I thought I would post my progress as I go along, so I could get any suggestions from anyone to improve it. Pelican Image 0001 Thank Eric
  14. Perfect - I knew someone might know. Thanks - Eric
  15. Hi - my next practice model is going to be a Tucan, and I have searched all over for pictures - and found some great ones, but can't seem to find any with their mouths open, to where I could see what the inside of their mouth looks like. Any Tucan experts out there. Does anyone happen to know if they have a short, small or long skinny tongue? Any good pic links would be appreciated. There was this link - it looks like a long skinny tongue, but not sure if it was something he was eating... Pic of Tucan w/ Mouth open Thank you - Eric
  16. My first embarrassing post for 2008 "numberous" ... "numerous" oh well. ;-)
  17. Hello - just wanted to wish everyone a happy new year and thank you for all your help and suggestions to my numberous questions in the forum for 2007. -Eric
  18. David - just opened up the project file - what a great idea for gun fire... Just wanted to thank you again. -Eric
  19. Hey David - great site, that is exactly what I was looking for, thank you very much. I just downloaded it and going to check it out.
  20. Hi - I made a military gorilla model and put together a quick animation of him shooting a gatlin gun, and to make it more realistic wanted to have a gun "fire" effect at the end of the 6 barrels (although a gorilla w/ a gatlin gun isn't the most realistic thing to begin with . Does anyone have a sample of one I can play around with or know of a tutorial for "gun fire"? I can probably run through the smoke and fire tutorial again and figure it out from there, but I was looking for something more specific. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks - Eric
  21. Hi - I had gone in and deleted all the smartskin I had created and still had the same issue. Not a big deal - just pulled up a previous version and started over. Thanks - E
  22. Hi Rob - thanks for the reply - no that wasn't the problem - I just reverted to an earlier version of the model right before smooth skinning and just reduing it. It will probably take less time than figuring it out. Thanks for the suggestion though. -E
  23. Hi - this is odd. I created a character - and put a bone structure in him - tested him in the resolute walk and he worked fine. I turned off the IK Let Setup to smartskin him - did that at several joints - brought him back to the main screen and turned the IK Leg Setup back on. Now when I bring him into an action or chor it is acting as if the IK Leg Setup is not on... when I pull his hips down to the ground his legs remain straight and the whole character moves down. Anyone know what is going on here, I have never had this problem?? Thanks for any help- Eric
  24. That's perfect Caroline - thank you.
