  1. Hi Ken - thanks for the help. I created a pose slider (called ball color change) for the steel ball and set it to "0". Where do I change the color at? Do I change it within the group in the instance of it in the chor? Thanks - little confused.
  2. Hi - I have a client that wants a steel looking ball smashing through glass - landing on the ground violently shaking and turning different colors while smoking and then blowing up into his logo. I figured I could do the changing colors with a pose slider, but doesn't seem to be working - anyone have any ideas? Thanks - E
  3. Hi Ganthofer - imagine that, a turbulance plug-in being in the "turbulence" folder. That worked perfect - thank you - next time I'll be a little more observant. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hi - I created a model in v14 and opening it up in v15 and it says "Extended Fractal Sum Turbulence Plug-in" Missing - what folder do I look in? I looked in "Post Plug-ins", but the same plugins are both folders. Any suggestions would be great - I guess I could just open up the model in v14, but I want to do it the hard way. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hi John - great idea - I like it - thanks for the visual.
  6. Hi - looking to create the effect of light shining back and forth through some text or around text maybe - just curious if someone had an example that they could show of something they have done to give me a visual for ideas. Thank - E
  7. Hi Ken - would you suggest any type of light over the others?
  8. Hi - I am trying to get the effect of bright light bursting through a triangle shaped window - any suggestions - would I set the window transparency down and what type of light should I use. I have tried several things and can't seem to get the light concentrated or "glowing" through the window. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks - Eric
  9. Robcat - it was odd - I created a square in the first frame and streched it a bit to fill the shape of the lower bottle then I had to copy it - then give the original a transparency of 30% - to do this I had to make it an object (and you cant' stretch an object unless to double click down to the original form - but when you do that - it will change the shape for all version of it). Then I would go to the next frame and paste - the non-object version of it (original) - and strech it a bit to show the fluid moving - then same thing copy it and create it into an object and transpency it. I had to do it over and over for each frame. I tried a motion tween, but it was very uncontrollable - I hope my description made sense to you - not sure it makes sense to me.
  10. Hi Rodney - that was funny - it was like Christmas when I was a kid. I woke up at 2:30 am worked for a couple of hours - posted my question - went back to sleep for a couple of hours - woke up again and there was the answer. It worked perfect, thank you for taking the time to go through it for me - I very much apprecite it. - Eric
  11. Hi - I have been seaching the forum for materials trying to learn more about them. I see the following darksim link http://www.darksim.com/html/simbiontam.html How does this work - it says the Simbiont Plug-in is already in version 13... and up I am guessing. I just upgraded to the latest version - how do I know if I have the plug-in. Also, are the free materials they have on on the site applied like you would a regular material? Someone help me see the light, was a little iffy about downloading the plug-in, didn't know if it was just for an older version
  12. That's perfect John - thank you. Next time I'll do a search first
  13. Hi - I need to create a golden planet w/ a glow around it - for the planet I just used a sphere, and created a material for it - but I noticed the "glow" in the property attributes doesn't have any sub setting, there is just an off and on. Is there a combo of other property attributes that I can use to get the effect I am looking for - just a glow around the planet - thanks for any suggestions.
  14. Thanks everyone. Bighop - I tried a motion tween and it just wasn't controllable enough. I just started w/ a green square, stretched it and gave it a 30% transparency. Then I had to copy and paste it 120 times and modify for the 10 seconds. It was pretty laborous, but really the only way I could see of doing it. - E
  15. Just wanted to post the final mockup for anyone that cares. ;-) I was able to take the bottle created in AM and add the fluid in Flash - it didn't come out half bad - I had to modify the fluid graphic 120 time in every frame, and it came out with pretty good results - hopefully my client likes it. Looking forward to a future update to fluids in AM where you can have a sitting fluid. Thanks again for the help. http://www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com/rob/rob05.html
  16. Perfect John - thank you - One of these days, I'll get you with a question your can't answer. ;-)
  17. Hi - can anyone give me a link to a sample of of a fog effect that they have done - or possibly a tutorial. ;-) I need it for a project and I need some ideas. Thanks - E
  18. Thanks for all the suggestions. ;-) That was an interesting idea to flip the normals, but didn't work a I thought it might. http://www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com/rob/rob03.html And thank you John again for the retry. The problem w/ a double wall is there is a small hole in the center that the fluid is supposed to run through to level it out to an exact amount of liquid in the bottle when you tip in back to a sitting position, so I can't really thickin that up Also, can anything think of another way to animate this - John you mentioned an animated material?? I was thinking I could bring the final render into flash and somehow do it with a shape tween. Anyway, thank for all the help.

    Fluids

Hi - I have a potential client that want their plastic bottle modelled in 3D and animated to show how it works. I have been playing around w/ the fluids tutorials and all the samples that people have generously posted and it seems that fluids is more designed to work as a faucet, hose, water fountain... anything flowing. Is it possible to have fluid in a bottle for example tip up the bottle and have it flow into a second chamber. I posted a flash anim of the bottle I modelled doing a 360 spin, so you can see the hole in the center that connects the two chambers that I need the fluid to flow through. Any help would be appreciated - even when you check "object collisions" on - it seems to go through mesh. Here is a link to the spinning bottle http://www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com/rob/rob01.html Thanks, Eric
  20. Just thought I would add this to the discussion - http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/player/pop...22&src=news It's the Blu-ray vs DVD - new clip Have a great weekend, -Eric
  21. That's great John - thank you. I'll let you know.
  22. Hi Phatso - I'm going to start playing around with the tutorials tomorrow morning - I just wanted to know if it is something that is possible to do w/ the new fluids. It looks like too fun of a project to subcontract.
