Hi Ken - thanks for the quick response - I was searching through several threads, and it sounds like there are several drivers for several different versions of the card - I have the NVidia GeForce 7300 LE - do you or anyone else happen to have that card, or know the exact driver I would need to fix the issue? Thanks again - Eric

Hi - I recently bought a new computer and had to re-install AM v13 on it, along w/ everything else. I needed to model and add something to a character, which I did. I went into bone mode to associate the new item w/ a bone and all the bones do show, but when I click on any of the bones, all the CPs that normally light up that color associated with that bone remain black. Is there an icon or something that I am not clicking on? There is an image below showing when I clicked on the middle back bone, and the CPs don't light up. Thank you for any help - Eric

Hi Dhar - no that wasn't the problem - I dropped it into a new chor and tried several other things - it turned out the floor had a reflective percent on it that didn't go with the Sprite System for whatever reason, so I just took it off - and it renders fine. Thanks for the reply - Eric

Hi - I am having a rendering issue, at the point that the Sprite System "smoke" and "fire" kick in it does something to the background, when the sprite system is changed back to 0% is goes back - can anyone tell me if this is avoidable? I tried putting new lights in different areas and getting the same effect. http://www.flashanimationwebsitedesign.com...nimFanMan10.mov Thank you - Eric

That would be it. ;-) Thanks Robert

Hi - I am trying to animate a character doing a 360 degree turn, and I noticed the root bone is not in the center of the char. How do I move the root bone independly w/o moving all the other bones? Thanks - Eric

Thank you Rusty. ;-)

Hello - I created an animation awhile back and used several cameras for different angels and I pressed a key which I thought was "tab" to switch from camera to camera - can someone tell me what key to press? Thanks - Eric

Hi - I posted a question a few days ago about what to do when you have 6 cps at the end of and object (like a hand in that case), instead of just scaling the cp down to a very small size. I got some great responses on what to do with 6 cps, but can anyone suggest any techniques for 8 cps like the bear foot below? The scaling down of the cps would work fine, but in this case I have "hair" on the foot and it bunches up oddly when then cps are scaled in so close. Thanks again - Eric

Hi - first of all I want to thank you for taking the time to help me with my questions - you and a lot of people in this forum are more than generous with your time and it is much appreciated. I did exactly what you said to do and it worked perfect. I will use this for all the characters I model from here on out. Have a great weekend - Eric

Hi Mechadelphia -thank you for your reply. I just went in and it looks exactly like you called it - smartskin is not on direct geometry. The problem is when you click on and highlight the "Right Thigh" bone and right click "New Smartskin" - when it opens up the window to do the new smartskin the thigh bone disapears - so you have to turn the "IK Leg Setup" on to see the bone. What am I doing wrong - if I can't see the bone when I go directly to the smartskin window I can't do the smartskinning? Thank you again - Eric

Thanks for your replies - I have the limitors turned off for both forearm - the Right Forearm is bending back, but not the left for some reason - I can just use the one arm, so that will work great. Thanks
-
Hi Ken - makes sense, but the bear has no hands and his arms aren't that long, so kind of like a real Teddy bear my idea was to have the whole arm kind of wrap behind his body - and it would be real easy if the forarm would bend that way. I am looking at the "left forearm" manipulator options and it says "on" with the allow "x, y and z" rotate, but I am guessing you can't indicate how many degrees? Is there any other way to increase the rotation that you know of? Thanks - Eric.

Hello - is it possible to have the forearm bone rotate backward using the 2001 rig? - or can it only go forwards? Kind of an odd question, but I am working on a Teddy Bear project, and I need him to be able to reach around his back and open a zipper? Thanks - Eric

Hi - I did the Smart Skinning for a character I am working on for the Thigh, Calves, Pelvis and Back bones - that all came out great. So I bring the T Bear character into an action w/ the IK Leg Setup Turned "on" and I move the Hip Target down and it result in what you see on the pic - as if I didn't Smart Skin anything. Can you Smart skin a Target? What am I not getting here? Thanks - Eric

Thanks Dhar and also Ken for your suggestion and offer to look at the file - I had the leg bones down to low, and it was making him squat a bit giving that bend. Working fine now.

Thanks Phatso - I'll try your light solution, and I'll work on her Bubblicious dress. ;-)

That's odd - when I first dragged and dropped the skeleton onto the model I also dropped the "relationships" for the skeleton onto the model. I just deleted the relationships file and it took away the problem, but then the relationships that I need are gone. So it is a problem w/ the relationship that are with the rig - any ideas what to do?
-
Hi Ken - the thing is, I haven't created any poses for the character yet. I have put the rig in twice and it has happened each time. Anything else you can think that I might have done wrong? Thanks
-
Hi - I am having a rigging issue again, I rigged the character using the 2001 skeleton from the library. I would use the new squetch rig, but haven't had enough time to play w/ it to be comfortable - and I need to get this project done. Anyway when I pull the model into an action if you look at the legs they are off center. If anyone knows what I have done wrong, or haven't done with the rigging please let me know. Thanks - Eric

Ruscular - thank you very much - sorry to hear you got hit by a truck, I hope you have recovered. I'll take your advice and keep everything well documented and filed away. I actually just picked up another job, so from now on if anyone asks I can say I'm a "Professional Character Animator" ;-)

Thank you again. Glad I was able to help you use that phrase.
