  1. I know there are a couple of bits to smooth out in the motion but anyway... The rig is the Hash 2001 with a version of Mike Fitz`s brilliant `cogs` added for the knees, hips and elbows. The body has a bone in the belly for the bounce/follow through. Anzovins WeightMover was used for the entire upper body and nicely smoothed out the shoulders and belly etc. DadWalk
  2. Excellent. Your work is exactly the kind of CG animation I like to see. The characters are not photorealistic but brilliantly designed cartoons. I never would have guessed you only modeled 2 characters for the audience btw. Ingenious! I assume the shrinking was achieved with modeling within a pose aswell?
  3. No royalties unfortunately. It was a one off payment but it motivated me to create something I could put on my showreel at the time. It looks great to me so far. I`ve never thought of design as my strongest point so I`m interested in all the direction I can get. Maybe I should change the white lettering to very pale blue or something? Btw, I did the whole thing in WebEasy in 2 evenings. I`ve hand coded previous sites but this was so refreshingly simple to do.
  4. Thanks, I will check through it later. I have no excuse for that - I created the site a few months back but should have checked it through before uploading yesterday. I met Tony Hart once in the BBC canteen - he called us over to his table. He was a really nice guy. His Wife was too. (Nice, I mean...not a guy!) No, `All Talk` was a 5 minute short and not part of any other programme. No you didn`t make me feel ancient `now`. I feel ancient all the time. Thanks for the kind comments Steven. I think I get the hint.
  5. I completed this site a while back but just got around to uploading it. I think this is probably the best place to post about it as it`s very much a work-in-progress. My Website
  6. Well, as one of those people who always HAS to buy the double DVD edition of films just to get another `making of`, I can`t resist sites like yours. And `yyyup` the voice track sounds like it`s going to be a fun short.
  7. Hi Doug, I missed this thread before somehow. The rocket landing looks great. I like the character walk too. The feet maybe lift a little high if you were attempting a realistic walk cycle but it`s a very stylised character so I think it works fine.
  8. Thanks for the feedback. To answer questions ..... Yeah the sprites do need the volume increasing at the start and end of the shot. It`s for a pilot film for a proposed kids animated series. A few friends and I did an original 2D pilot in 1990. You can view it at the very bottom of the page here Horace Pilot Film It looks fairly awful to me now and the new version is almost completely different. Some of the same people are working on this new film with me and it should be completed sometime this year. Unfortunately, one of the guys, Kevan, has been in a coma for several weeks after a brain op. Kev is a real good mate and I`m feeling very emotionally fragile at the moment. We are all just praying he gets through this.
  9. Very impressive. Ralph Bakshi immediately came to mind. The lip-synch and acting look excellent to me. What are you going to change with the lighting?
  10. This is a short test animation of a vehicle in our A:M pilot film. The model isn`t completed yet. The rider is finished but I have omitted her from this animation for the time being. Animation
  11. The original was good but the new version is great. All of the gestures work well and show extremely good acting. Nice.
  12. Ive added a few cobwebs (thanks for the `render as lines` tip Gary ) and made a couple of other alterations based on everyones comments.
  13. Hi Pancho, I like the overal look of the site but noted everything that dborruso said aswell. Btw, you may like to look at Dogwaffle which does pretty much everything Corel Painter does but there is a free version and a very inexpensive complete version. It has loads of animation (2D) features too.
  14. I don`t know the character but he looks to have loads of personality. Nice model - I will have to look up the original now.
  15. Absolutely gorgeous images. The design is stunning and doesn`t look like anything else I can think of which is an achievement in itself. Amazing
  16. Gazzamataz - Hopefully one of us will have success with our project and can employ the other. Hint hint The house will be darker. I`m going to keep it `green` I think. I will have a go at creating webs the way you stated. I`ve never rendered as lines before. Thanks. I really don`t like the perfect look of most CG which is my main reason for eliminating most straight edges. What, and show how poor my modeling really is Which bits do you want to see?
  17. Daniel - For the flame lighting effect I shall probably place a light near the candle and just `flicker` it over time. Jack - Thanks, I will try and keep motivated. My priority now is to complete storyboards and create an animatic so I know exactly what I`m doing.
  18. TC - The haunted house is intended for a pilot for a proposed kids series. Fingers crossed Daniel - Yes the candle flames/smoke will be sprites and I will affect the lighting of the scene. John - It is the knight from the Hash cd. One of the `stand ins` I mentioned I`ve been working on spider webs. Infact in the original render I had the camera looking through a web but I didn`t like it. I painted the web and applied it to a patch. If anyone has a better way of creating webs I`d be very interested.
  19. No, you`re quite right. I`ve used an image on a light to create the impression of light coming through a window. This will only be used for lightening in the film but in this still does give the feeling of bright sunlight streaming through.
  20. This is part of the interior of the haunted house posted a while ago. It`s obviously not completed and some items are `stand ins` but I thought it was about time I showed something again.
  21. Wow! It certainly has a very high quality look to it and an epic feel. Obviously you don`t give too much away here ( it is a teaser trailer after all ) but it looks great. The music and narration are excellent too. I can`t wait for more Well done to everyone that worked on it. Dale.
  22. Looks great - editing great - animation great. An excellent short
  23. Hey, I like it Though not a big fan of techno music (I`m too old I think) that sounds great and I do like Magix software.
  24. That`s VERY impressive. It`s a great model and the skin texture looks superb. I can see what you mean about the arms. They are maybe just a bit mechanical looking . Perhaps there needs to be a bit of follow through and drag on the hands and a little less swing? The film`s going to be great
  25. Wow!! I agree with MATrickz, that is a stunning model. Maybe it`s enhanced by the monochrome image or something but I couldn`t help but view it over and over.... The lip synch looks almost perfect to me too apart from the small details already noted. Brilliant
