  1. Cool smoke effect, but if the car is spinning tires I think the smoke should be more white. It looks like it blew a head gasket with the darker smoke. Multicolored thoms, I like it. Keep us posted.
  2. That's great, but what did he step in?
  3. Looks good, how about a little slide at the end. The floor looks slick for a metalic character to stop in its tracks.
  4. Yes maybe a little too much on the cell turb. You can try lightening the colors, it's kind of dark. Or toning down the cell turb, if you like the color.
  5. Cool tree. I like it. As for the leaves, try adding the decal to a sphere. Then you pull different cp's around to give it a more natural shape. Add the sphere to the branches like you did with the flat patches. If you are using v11 you can add the decal to the hair as an image and apply the hair material to the spheres to give it a more 3d look.
  6. That's some rig. One thing though, when he moves his brow up it looks like it goes into his forehead.
  7. Looks great Ken. Try adding a second emitter to the hair. You can duplicate the first one and then change the color to a darker one to to simulate some shadow.
  8. It's looking fantastic, Xtaz. I'd love to see it toon rendered. Keep posting pics.
  9. People say you need to do it in a specific order, clockwise or counter clockwise. Regrouping after hiding the rest of the model usually works.
  10. Select the five points like you have been doing, then hide. Drag a box around the five points and see if the five point patch button highights. It usually works for me, but i'm on pc. It's worth a try.
  11. He looks good with some texture on him. I see you added kinkiness to his hair. A little less may look better, IMO. I liked his hair better a little longer, too. He reminds me of a cartoon version of Captain Picard from Star Trek the Next Generation. Keep it up.
  12. Looking forward to seeing that animation with the trees growing one by one as the child plants the seeds.

Looking good so far. Are you planning on using decals for the hair? I don't know what version of A:M you are using, but v11 hair is amazing.
  14. It's looking great Zach. The one thing that bothers me most is the dark stripes in the floor. It reminds me of an outdoor deck.
  15. Looks great Ken. Try playing with the hair guides a little to see if you can get rid of the hair through the ear. I haven't had to much luck with hair collision. The eyebrows look great, maybe thinning the hair on his head the same, it looks a little thick. Great character! Keep it up
  16. The lighting looks good to me, but I'm no expert. Your telescopic idea sounds like it would work pretty well, but you would still have to scale all the rings, even though you are not stretching the segments. As the tree gets taller the trunk gets fatter. It's starting to sound more complicated to rig and to setup sliders. I wouldn't have noticed the bark if you didn't say anything. All in all it's looking great. Keep it up.
  17. I think it would look better if the leaves started to grow while the branch is about half way grown and continued to grow after the full growth of the branch. Just a thought.
  18. That looks great Bill. Can't wait to the animation. Is that patch leaves or hair?
  19. It looks great Zach. Looking forward to seeing it all textured. And I wish I got that much response to the things I've posted.
  20. The decal on the street that the green car is on is not lined up on the corner.
  21. Zach, technically it's not a sidewalk, it's a crosswalk, I believe. The sidewalk is where all the Thoms are walking.
  22. Yes, Randy is right about the chimney. I missed that one. And I see what you mean about the decal too. It's nice to have people to help you out. There is always something that you overlook.
  23. I have another suggestion. Adding a traffic light since there is no stop sign. I think it might add to the scene. all you would have to do is turn the glow on and off as the light changes. Here is an example.
  24. The set looks great but I do see a couple of problems. One is the set of wires on the left look unattached in the middle and two of the houses seem to be off the ground a bit. It's the second house on the left corner down the street and the first house with the steps on the right corner. You can see a dark shadow under them. Keep up the good work.
  25. Ok, here is a test for the length of the hair. I created 2 sliders for adjusting it. If you notice in the hair material there are 2 settings for length. One is for the measurement the other is for percentage. both models have the same hair pose. I adjusted the sliders to keep the same hair length as it grows. One scaling the measurement the other scaling the percentage, giving you two different results. The easiest way to explain it is one scales the hair guide the other scales the hair along the hair guide, like a path. By doing this it gives you more variation for one hair pose. And creating multiple poses you can generate alot of variation. When I'm done with this model you can add it to a character and change the hair style with a couple of slider moves. Add it to a couple of models and you can change the hair differently for each model. With the pose slider window open, all you have to do is click on your model and change the slider without opening everything in the PWS. Heres the result.
