  1. Hey sandgroper Pretty nice start for your first model. Try modeling in a:m though, you can do the same thing with very little patches.
  2. Very cute looking turtle. So Calarts uses a:m? or do you choose your own 3d software?
  3. Congratulations Dhar! Rod I want my 20 dollar bill back. Guess you can't bribe the military man
  4. LOL What do you mean why you dont model? I think he is brilliant. He is a really funny character.
  5. This is a beauty of an image. I dont think it needs much more work. I would send it as an e-card, since theres not much time til christmas. Most people will not see it critically as the artists here do. But hey thats our job
  6. lol, thats a funny santa Reminds me of my first walk cycle like 5 years ago http://www.3dfrog.com/wips/roboland.mov I didnt even know the term walk cycle when I made it. Hope you get Santa done soon, not many days left
  7. Hey Tony (mega) Glad you'll be able to make it! Duke already been to the nynjamug meeting. Now will be like old times Looking forward to seeing everyone

  9. Sounds good. Looking forward to seeing ya colin. I will make a meeting at any time.
  10. This is my favorite fish. I would like some fish toys Keep up the great work.
  11. This is fabulous work. I can't believe you've only been at it a year. This is great advertisement for a:m too. They should make you a fellow! Congratulations on one year of splining.
  12. That is a really nice spider. The cp's are a little heavy in the legs but I guess you need that geometry for the effect you want. It doesnt look so heavy that it would slow it down so much though. I don't know why you are having such trouble. Maybe open the spider and import the legs one by one, instead of copying and pasting. I don't know if that would make a difference. You never know.
  13. Great work DL It is really cool to see how this fish progressed. I voted for you fish, I wish you won a prize, I think it deserved it. Thanks for sharing.
  14. We had the first NY Hash A:M User Group Meeting today. I think it was quite a success. This is in a large part due to Mike's great hosting at his place. Mike had a nice spacious living room with snacks and drinks for all. We all discussed a little about ourselves and what we do with A:M. We talked about our shared love of A:M and what we thought about the future of the software and stuff like that. The smokers enjoyed smoke breaks in the big hallway and had some nice discussion. We then went to Mike's cool little projection room and watched some 3d shorts. We also viewed some awesome work by some of the guys. I forgot to bring up my little humble movies I have on my web site to show though. You guys can see them on my web page though. It was really cool seeing animation on a nice big projector screen as I am usually viewing animations on my little 19" monitor. Next time I want to see my frogman riding his bike on a big screen. lol. I was pleasantly surprised by the presence of my old pal Duke. Duke was a member of the original User Group and we used to have meetings at his office in Manhattan. We had some good nights out on the town too back in the day. I am very pleased with how this meeting went. This is a really good group of folks. I hope we can get together again soon. Unfortunately the soonest I can do is January because I will be pretty busy next month and my finances will be tight due to the holidays. Please don't let that stop you other guys from getting together sooner though if you wish. You guys would be welcome out here on Long Island too but I think that is kind of inconvenient for most of you. Probably in the spring and summer you guys can take the trip out and enjoy some bbq in the land of trees and plants. Guys, post your thoughts about the meeting here. Are there any ideas you have for future meetings? Maybe we can make some outings or something somewhere too, I have no idea where though We can all hop a plane to Washington to visit Hash headquarters. lol. Well, talk to you guys soon.
  15. Hi My train to penn station is scheduled to arrive about 11:40, then I have to take the subway so I might be a little late. I am guessing I will be there before 12:30 though. See you all there
  16. Thanks Folks I am pretty happy with how the robot is now. Everytime I change him someone points out a way he can look different so I am just gonna stick with him. Thanks for the suggestion though. I am hoping we can get the clouds animated maybe for the game splash screen or something and maybe in other instances too. Thanks. A daytime transition would be cool too. Thanks a lot folks
  17. I put up a little place holder web page. I think the logo is near completion. see it here: http://www.skybrothers.com/
  18. OK I went back to the 2d design in style. I think it looks better as a logo. Let me know what you think.
  19. Well here's the logo with the robot my partner made. How do you like it? I may mess with the materials and embossing and stuff more, I don't know. Edit: Here it is with more contrast I did in photoshop. I dont know how to get that in a:m. Anyone know? Edit again: back to blue sky, removed shadow. I dont know.
  20. LOL Those are fantastic. Great hair. Funny animations. Can I ask how they pay you at jamster? Do they pay you once upfront or do they pay you by how much you sell? It is something to think about. Thanks
  21. Yeah I guess that blue word was kinda washed out against the sky so I changed it. I altered the color of the sky some too. Maybe it looks more dramatic? what do you think? Everything we do on the team is a collaboration so I can take some liberty. I changed the end of the S because I just didnt like it ending in a point. I tried working that background shape into the 3d but whatever I did with it it looked cluttered and unnecessary So I left it out for simplicity sake. This is our own logo not a client. I wouldnt do these changes to a client logo. The ai wizard worked very nicely for this. I just thought about the way they would close the face in the wizard and laid out my points accordingly. It did a good job I think. I am happy with it anyway. Well, hopefully I'll get a chance to talk to my partner tomorrow and see what he thinks. Thanks for the input.
  22. Hi I just made the sky brothers logo into 3d. Attached is the 2d drawing our 2d guy drew and my 3d version. What do you think of the 3d one? See anywhere it can be improved? I did the logo with illustrator and ai wizard. I didnt show my partner yet. I hope he doesn't mind me posting it Let me know what you think. Thanks
