  1. Thanks Ken This kind of plant is very easy to make with sweeper. I used the technique used on the sweeper page tutorial for organic modeling. You can see it here: http://www.moscafilms.com.br/emilioleroux/...ns_sweeper.html The textures are made with enhance a:m plugins. I used cellular for the leaves, dinoskin for the stems, and crust for the thin vines. I just changed the colors and scale how I wanted them. You can use my plant if you want but it's real easy to make one if you want one that suits the movie better. If you want me to make some for the movie let me know.
  2. Hi folks Here is the first sweeper plant I made I am happy with. It is for an underwater scene. Let me know what you think.
  3. The scene doesnt have much depth as it is. I agree the horizon should be flat. The wave size should really diminish to create depth. I think maybe the water is a little too black too. Kind of looks like tar. Maybe a little more of a color to the sky that reflects in the water other than just black and gray. I think the moon is kinda too yellow too. I don't ever think I've seen a moon that bright and yellow. It's a great start though. I think the waves look cool.
  4. I agree the size of the flash page is too large. Shouldn't really have a horizontal scroll. The image on the first page that is a link to his portfolio should indicate what it is I think. That page should probably be a little more descriptive of what the site is maybe. I think the design is good overall though.
  5. LOL Very entertaining clip. Thanks for sharing
  6. Hi luckbat I will be coming from long island so I will be taking the LIRR to Penn station. I guess I can catch the A or C from there correct? What are the directions from the station to your place? Is there a grocery store or something near you where I can pick up something to bring? Thanks
  7. Ok, let's set a date. I am pretty much free anytime after the 4th of November. What is best for you guys? Weekdays? Weekends? Nights? Days? Let's get an idea when everyone is available and go from there. Is everyone ok going to Brooklyn? How long do you guys think a meeting should last?
  8. New York User Group Wiki is up. http://3dfrog.com/nyhug/ If anyone want to create an image of something to do with A:M and NYC for the homepage please do and I will put it up. If someone wants to design the wiki homepage let me know. I haven't tried the features yet, but it looks like there are many. Feel free to try them out. I won't censor blogs or forums or anything unless they are hit by spammers. But try to keep it fairly clean in there anyway. Thanks
  9. I just got an email from someone else who would like to be in the group. That's 4 of us. That's a group as far as I'm concerned and I think it will grow. Very Cool! How would you guys like to aim for a November get together? Maybe we can get more folks by then too. ddavis. Philadelphia sounds kind of far for me. The gas alone would probably drive me to the poor house. If there was an event that lasted a substantial amount of time or a festival or something I would head out there maybe. But all that driving for a few hours or so of meeting I probably wouldnt really be able to do. If I didnt live on a fixed income it might be easier too. But maybe we will all meet up for a big gathering one day. That would be cool. Ok guys this is great. I will try to find out how to make one of those wiki pages on my site for the group if I can. Then we can all post to it with ideas for the group and stuff. Talk to ya later.
  10. Wow John That's a beauty. I would love to see a tutorial too. I dont have sweeper yet but looks like I must get it. I hope I can make something that good. What is the patch count on that? You are an awesome talent.
  11. Hi I have seen there are some users on this forum that are from New York and our neighboring state New Jersey. I talked to Luckbat and he and I are interested in starting up a NYC A:M user group. We used to have a NYC user group that was successful in the time it ran. We were even visited and talked to by the guys from Hash when they were in NY! That group has drifted apart a while ago, but now we can make a new group! Anyone that's close by and interested please post and we will try to get something together. Thanks All
  12. I have flash player 8 and only see the background
  13. I changed the pose and specularity settings. Thanks a lot for all the help folks. It's getting better.
  14. Thanks Dan, I dont think I can do all that in a toon render though. I'll try some of those things. Anyway I got some suggestions at #hash3d and this is what I came up with now. Edit: I darkened the background and added specularity to the frog. Which is better?
  15. Thanks a lot. I lightened the shadows. I think it looks much better now.
  16. This is a really nice looking character. Very good especially since you haven't been doing it so long. I look forward to see him animated. He has a lot of character.
  17. Hi I am trying out the toon render with my froggy boxer. I like the results but am open to any suggestions to make it better. It is for a competition so I would like it the best it can be. Can you guess which competition? Thanks for looking.
  18. That's quite a handsome shovel. Nice work. I like the texture. Maybe the line where the rust ends is a little too uniform across the shovel.
  19. This is a very good character. I really like the model. Good job.
  20. Good call. I added more reflectivity and I think it looks better thanks. Yep. Robbie was from the animation:master 2000 handbook. I found it on my shelf, I forgot about it. Good book.
  21. Hi I was playing around with making a metal material today. Then I thought it would be fun to apply it to one of the first models I made in A:M a long time ago, Robbie the Robot. I'm pretty sure I did him from a tutorial but I have no idea where the tutorial came from. Anyway, I started playing with a ground material and stuff and just had some fun. Thought I'd post the result here for folks to take a gander at. Hope you like it.
  22. Too bad about your system crash. Good you're back up and running again though. The pic looks nice. Good luck.
  23. That is a charming little house. Keep up the good work. Maybe some kind of texture on the fence and house?
