  1. Playing with Materials, Splinage, and just plain having fun!
  2. As always, looking VERY good. You work is an inspiration to us beginners. I'm a little rusty on my Latin, though. What's the translation on the motto?
  3. Spooky !
  4. The strategically placed cork made me laugh out loud!
  5. Best Happy Wishes, Caroline.
  6. That first image I used a rotoscope from an image I got off the net. This one was made from scratch. Experimenting with materials as well. I'll add more to this one, but I'm happy thus far.
  7. Here is the finished Entry Page for my website overhaul. I wanted an "Old Time" feel invoking the kind of feeling you get when you see a piece of machinery made in the late 19th or early 20th century. Antique from the time when things were made with quality and meant to last. Pretty high goal, I know, but I'm pretty happy with this image.
  8. Getting better and better.
  9. Thank You, Rob. I can work better manipulating cp's than I can using my mouse in my image programs. I like it in 3d because the ridges stand out. I've got quite a bit of time in it but I hope to improve my technique and cut the time down. I don't really care about the patch count because it's just imagery. I'm gonna work on lighting it next to hopefully bring out the highlights. " I love the flow of Art Nouveau"
  10. Thanks, Rob. I doubled the res like you suggested and it helped a lot
  11. No material, no glow, and I'm not sure where to turn depth of field on or off the colors are just various "group" surface diffuse colors Nothing else
  12. I zoomed in and rendered just a corner. It's closer to a cleaner image.
  13. It is a 3d model. I'll try scaling it up and see what happens. Thanks, Luuk EDIT: Still Blurry
  14. In the early 60's Stanley Mouse (Miller) was responsible for a large portion of the San Francisco concert posters at the Fillmore, the Carousel Ballroom, and the Winterland concert posters. He became closely associated with the Grateful Dead and did a ton of artwork for them as well. His early stuff had a very strong art nouveau influence. I've decided to emulate his style for my website imagery and have been playing around with the style. this is my first image. This is a jpg conversion of a TGA rendering from A:M. I'm having a problem getting crisp edges on the imagery (I'm using Corel Photo Paint X3). There are a lot of image specialists here on the forum, and I was wondering if anyone could give me some hints as to how to the crisp imagery that I'm after. Thank You in advance for any help. Myron
  15. Awwwww, come on, Gene, do the video. It cries out for your touch! I know I want to see it!
  16. Good Job, Gene. I've loved this song for years. You bring life to Tom Lehrer. ( and death to a few pigeons ) As an "homage" to this song I have a lyric line in my song "Fishin' " about poisoning the pigeons in the park.
  17. A Weyr on Pern.
  18. Thank You, Nancy. Have a chocolate chip cookie.
  19. It used to be that A:M would do the "real time render" and show decals in shaded mode. But now I have to go to render mode to see that decals. Even on previous work? Anyone know what happened, and how I could change it back? Thanks, Myron
  20. You do such nice clean work.
  21. For prodigious production, vast improvement in a myriad of aspects, this Ammy Award goes to: *THE SPLEEN* (Applause, Whistle, Applause) Speech, Speech
  22. Great Gag!!!!! When Greyhawk enters the strip does he bring a One-eyed, One-horned Flying Purple People Eater?

The economy crunch has filtered down to us guitar teachers, and my student load is at about 25 to 30%. I've always wanted to get Barrys CD's but at this time I may be able to scrape up the money for one. Which one of the series would cover the making of a character? thanks for your responses M
  24. Stupid Newbie question: I know what an action is. What is a Chor action and how do you start one? in the open chor window? How would you save it separately, or would you? Stuff like that.

Hi Folks, Are there any decent tutes on creating and modeling a character. I did the Cooper face tute in ToaA:M, but I'm thinking more cartoony character or somewhere in between. Just thought I'd ask. Thanks
