  1. thanks david unfortunately this script overwrites the animated position of the bone, so that´s another issue... and i´m no good in scripting at all. setting the keyframes to hold would give a rougher look as i am looking for. i want to animate at 12fps without having to animate each frame and still get some sort of slight jittering.
  2. hey guys, haven´t been here for a while, and of course i have a question: i´m trying to find a way to simulate a stop-motion look without having to animate frame by frame. so i thought a possible solution would be to add some sort of random expression to the bones rotation, so that they would rotate randomly with very low values (let´s say from 0,1° to 0,3° or so) each frame. i´m not very familiar with expressions in a:m, in after effects the wiggle expression is fairly simple and can be applied to almost every parameter. i hope it´s similar in a:m. any advice?
  3. there´s a cool after effects/final cut plug-in called "twixtor", which can create acceptable slow-motion from normal speed recorded footage... i was astonished how good it works. in after effects there´s also a build-in shatter-effect, which might get you close to what you want... but it still will be far far away from the looks of your example though... as matt said, they pulled a lot of tricks on this one...
  4. exciting! i´m in but there shouldn´t be sound other than backgound music... the viewer is so far away that he wouldn´t be able to hear anything other than a really loud scream or so... hmmm.. i guess if i wanna do a fart-joke again it has to be a really really big one
  5. that´s really cool, thanks a lot!!! the default chor always bothered me. but i somehow changing the default chor doesn´t work on my computer. i´ve downloaded the file, replaced it in my a:m folder, and then when i open a new chor there´s just one bulb light in it. i´ve tried making my own default chor, but then the same thing happens. both with v16 and v15. i´m on a mac, someone else got this problem???
  6. i have skype running all day in the background, it´s pretty cool for working on projects where meetings aren´t possible because of the distance... animations can get a bit bumpy when i show my screen to the other user, but other than that it´s perfect. maybe once a month or so i get a single spam message, mostly they say i should think about marrying a russian woman! tip: try not to video-chat while you´re transfering bigger amounts of data, otherwise you´ll wait for hours
  7. awesome model!!! and i like the painted background a lot... you could also split the background in two or three different layers and place them with a lttle space in beween... so when the camera moves, you´ll get some 3d-feel to it...
  8. that looks great! very nice mood... his hands look a bit odd to me, though...
  9. that is creepy... and dangerous! i bet people hit her all the time on the neck
  10. that looks great... on slower spiderwalks you can actually see a slight up and down movement, but i guess it´s hard to notice anyway on fast spiderwalks just as yours...
  11. i´m willing to pay double-price if i can get one or two other video-tutorials upfront but maybe it will be more lucrative for rob to sell the information as e-book or video-tuts, for me it doesn´t matter if i get the desired information on paper or pixels...
  12. try to set the stretch type to "springs" instead of "stretch/shear" and set the stiffness up to 1000 or so... that´s how i got the best result for something similar to your test...
  13. very, very usefull... thanks a lot! the setting you were looking for at the beginning was "collision tolerance" in the simcloth properties in the chor btw...
  14. yeah, i like the idea of showing bill as a kid that just like conflicts, no matter what... that would give the story a nice touch...
  15. keep on going... honestly for me the story wasn´t that catchy when i was reading the storyboard, but in the end it´s all about the realization, often details tell the story... i don´t think you really need scene 7, the story is already told at the end of scene 6. if dave is falling really hard and rick laughs at it, everything is said.... about your "to-do-list": you forgot lighting, that will also take a while
  16. looking goog! time for robcat to write his book and telling us how to get rid of the jittering in cloth simulations...
  17. thanks guys... since i always wanted to play around with the oceanrig, i´ve decided to make the set for the chorus a lakefront... here´s some 2 second test rendering of the scene (only 720x405, no dof, just 4 passes)... and a little update of the animation progress (just a few additional seconds).... i´ve still got some problems with the hair, sometimes it stretches weirdly or jitters, i might have to try using forces to get the hair in place now and there... oceanrig rocks! scene04_testing_low.mov animtests_low.mov
  18. very nice model... looks like he´s workin out several days a week please show us your results on the belly-thing as soon as you got something.
