This is an old project I abandoned for some reason a while ago. I just dug it up and since it's the festive time of year, I'm donating it. The hands aren't rigged, so a little work is needed. That was probably why I left it. It's based on an existing concept. Edit: Aha....found the original thread. http://www.hash.com/forums/index.php?showt...&hl=snowman snowman.prj

If anyone can use it, hopefully I saved this right so it all together. For some unknown reason the model looks like part of it is missing but it's not. It should have pose sliders with it also. Alien_Eye.mov AlienEye.prj

Here's a look back into the past! This is just a reminder to those interested in collecting A:M Characters that two of the characters Jeff Lew uses in his DVD tutorials are still available via his site. Look for the link way down at the bottom on the Customer Support page: http://www.jefflew.com/DVD_support.html The site states: As I recall, one thing to note is that the constraints for these characters are all created in the accompanying Action files. If you don't open the character in an Action or alternately drop the Action onto the character in a Choreography you'll have a really hard time animating these dudes. Thanks to Jeff for the c…

Here's an early character from Raf Anzovin (hence the name I gave this model) that was used to test/demonstrate rigging concepts. A few notes about the model: - The model has been edited slightly but needs additional attention. For instance, his head appears to be connected to the wrong bone. - Whereas in the original model most of his parts were cylinders in this model the cylinders are closed at the ends. - The original model didn't have eyes and so two black dots were quickly thrown into the mix to meet that need. All of this creates something of an odd model... one with four objects for the head (head, eyes and nose), two arms that are connected to ea…

Holy yikes! I was rummaging through the files on the Extra DVD when I ran across a file named 'rbRobo'. The name sounded oddly familiar so I was anxious to see what it was. Low and behold the 'rb' is my initials and the robot was one of the very first things I modeled in A:M (after coming to this forum). Not much to see here but it sure brings back memories. I've shared this model several times before... but I'm officially doing it again. I don't know much about modeling now but I SURELY didn't know anything then Memories flood back about that timeframe and the project called 'My Robot Movie' that I had decided to share with the forum. The robot is a s…

Back in 2013, I was trying to improve my skills in animation and modeling and I had evolved a lot since the first time I used Animation Master in 2011. One of the characters I tried to model was Peach from "Finding Nemo". However, I made some small improvements to the model, such as making it capable to do more movements and I posted it here. Note: The star shape outline is a primitive object that exists in a freeware named "Spatch". Peach.mdl

Pretty much wrapped this model up for everyone. I didn't do the face rig because I'm not sure which one people preferred so if anyone is ambitious enough please feel free to modify and post it. I put in a ReadMe so please check that out. Anyone contributing to this file set please post an quick render of what you have done and append the model (don't use the original model name) so it doesn't get confused in peoples libraries. Super Thanks to MTspeaks for the new rig and all his help on this. woman1_2008r.zip

One of the issues with collecting resources for the Extras has always been making sure they are up to date and fully operational. In most cases something needs to be updated in order for the resource to work in an optimal way. The talented Jim Talbot created a number of superheroes and contributed them to the community and this one is no exception. This model mostly works but could use some fine tuning attention but otherwise works quite well. JTman.mdl

While wandering around the website of a company that sells handheld 3D scanners, I stumbled across a free, promotional STL of a male forearm and hand. I downloaded and converted it to MDL format to use it as a template to improve my existing actor's hands. I thought someone else might find it useful. forearm and hand.mdl

Did some spline doodling today and this guy showed up. Perhaps he might amuse or be a starting point for someone. Note: This guy is NOT rigged... I'm not even sure he's worth rigging given the spline layout. He might look good in the background of an image on a shelf. The primary things I was playing with while modeling: - Specified Boolean Mouth/Tongue/Teeth (boolean mouths aren't the easiest to animate because they usually need special tweaking from all angles but they can work quickly pretty well in a pinch... it's better just not to be lazy and model the mouth) - 1 minute arm and hand (this was a speed drill to see how fast I could create a hand tha…

I was running through some old CDs and ran across this model of Leela. The files info says she was modeled by Klaus Uwe Shomann. She is fully rigged and given that there is a Sci Fi contest currently running... she might be of interest to someone. *The CD must have been from very early in my use of A:M because the content was very scary... lots of little things that surely must have been my attempt to understand splines. Leela and a few models by Rodger Reynolds were the only models worth the time it took to burn the CD. Still, it was interesting to look back at those exciting times! Thanks to Klaus for the model and the inspiration. Leela_embeddedmat…

John, I'm Here to help you with your project! Please, accept me! Eggiton posted more models on their website and I downloaded some for you. Please, use them! And an older rabbit version that would make a better plush toy "in my opinion". Please, tell me your opinion and I hope you'll like them! Have a good luck. The anime style is a captivating one. This model has a credit to Thom Falter embedded in it but it was modeled and donated to the A:M Community by Satyajit Chakraborty. Although my instinct is to fully credit Satyajit I must assume that Satyajit started from an earlier model by Thom and modified it into it's current configuration. If Thom or Satyajit stop by the forum perhaps they can clarify. When last I checked Thom had been working for ReelFX (on 'Everyone's Hero') and Satyajit was an illustration/animation instructor in India. While the rig for this character is operational it has some glitches. The model will look for the attached images for the eyes (…

Seeing the topic asking about some of the A:M users of the past had me running a few searches and this model (which I don't ever recall seeing before) turned up. What is interesting is that although the model is quite old it opened in A:M v18 without issues. It's also a really nice setup. Note that this is not the Stooly of 'Boids of a Feather' nor is it Schlitzy the eighth dwarf... so don't let the character name fool ya. A description of the model reads as follows: I need to inspect this rig to see how it may inform my current efforts in control point driven controllers. Senior Stool v18.prj

Yet another classic character from the past. This time it's Dojobot (which I believe was created by Tony Lower-Basch, who is the creator of one of my all time favorite animated series created with A:M; 'Nosferatu'. It's a tale I think would sell well in today's age of teenage vampires, monsters, ninjas etc. Dojobot and DojobotLite have an interesting aspect to them which just might explain why such rigs as those created with The Setup Machine had constraints that had to be turned on before they would work. In Dojobot's case, he has a pose slider that needs to be turned OFF before animating in a typical fashion. I don't recall every seeing THAT approach before…

Here's an old classic model from the Extras that I'm presently dusting off as I gear up for the A:M Exchange/Extras update I am reminded of why it can take time to update and document older models. Updating can be difficult. Documentation nigh impossible. With regard to the latter, please feel free to use this space to document any related information, stories of yore and observations of the character used. I once explored something similar with Keekat and got a whole lot of interesting information regarding the origin, character, rig, people and project involved. Jim_19.mdl

I've started building my next actor and have decided that she's going to have believable ears. A number of human A:M models have been made available over the years. Jim Talbot made a low patch count ear with Wonder Woman because they were hidden by her hair. For the same reason the ears on Den Beauvais' Lambrina are only good at a distance. Jim Talbot got closer with Lady Goodbody and the Jungle Queen with ears that were incorporated into the skull mesh but they still don't stand up to arm's length scrutiny. I tried my best on the business man with a hi-res normal view of an ear as a rotoscope but his ears are only sort of convincing in a normal view because I …
