I'm a fan of sketching ideas and making storyboards before animating.

Here is a rough animation created in Adobe Animate before I started on the 3d side of things.
was a fun and quick way to play with animation ideas.

Love that animation!

I also saw your other work on your YT channel. Very nice work. I picked up some tips on using splines from your time-lapses as well.

Mind if I ask how you created/what your process was for creating the Play-Doh/Clay effect on the models? It looks great and the animation really captures the claymation/stop-motion style!

Hi Michael,

for the materials I went to the source and took pictures of Plasticine I flattened out onto some foam core board.
Then used the texture for bumps and displacement maps, also using Ambiance Occlusion helped give some nice
shading and soft shadows.

Oh wow! That seems a pretty fun process....I kind of want to try different materials now, the results you had with it were fantastic!

Thanks!

Yeah more artistically satisfying to make your own textures, using your own photos or painting them.
Your project ends up being more unique in the end.
