i was watching the UFC and tought about making A MMA Octagon. was looking for how to make chain link fence i could not find any thing.Is this possible.

this is what i have got done

The easiest way to do the chainlink fence would probably be to use a decal.

 

I'm thinking a quick way to model it might be to model a segment like this and copy/flip/attach to get one of the vertical wires. Then duplicate that and rotate it 180 along the y-axis to make the interlinking wire. Then duplicate that over and over again to make the fence.

It would be a ton of patches, though.

Nice fence, but be aware that that many patches will result in long rendering times and sooner or later in a slowdown of the programm when FindingPatches is active.

You can make a section of fence, then use an Action to place instances of that section where you want multiple times.

just for kicks this was 256 pass it took 3.5 min.Thanks for the warning this is a very large section of fence.I had slowdown building this section of fence

I have the fence as its own model not part of the Octagon
