The simple answer is to ask you a similar question.

What do you need A:M to do for you?

 

Chances are A:M has what it takes to deliver.

Animation:Master is still the best there is for rigging characters.

Raf, Billy, Mark and David and Holmes (among others) are acknowledged masters in this area.

They've provided complex freely available yet flexible rigs (TSM, Squetch, 2008, LiteRig) but in some cases you may be satisfied with more simple rigging.

The talent isn't in the program Gene... but the program sure helps get you where you want to be. :)

Malcolm is 'Malcolm Zinzan'. Everyone knows him as 'Zinzan'.

 

He's an talented artist that has spent much of his life in Deviant Art ''obscurity'.

Others know of his talent of course... but we here don't as he doesn't hang with us here daily.

Rodney -- you do fine work.

 

I use Max. I am in the process of making 3d caricatures of my family and a few politicians. I have the sketches made, but before I start modeling in Max, I thought I'd look around for an app that makes modeling easier. This is the reason I'd like to know more about A:M. I will also texture, rig and animate these characters. Any help would be appreciated.

My last question is: Is it possible to export files from A:M in a format that can be used by other 3D apps such as Max and Maya? My guess would be no, since A:M is spline-based not poly-based.

 

Export isnt that much of trouble... OBJ, DXF and DirectX-files work quite well... import on the other hand is a whole other story.
