BaldEagle Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 Hash website doesn't have product information. How do I learn what it has to offer? Quote
Admin Rodney Posted October 22, 2009 Admin Posted October 22, 2009 The simple answer is to ask you a similar question. What do you need A:M to do for you? Chances are A:M has what it takes to deliver. For a sample of what A:M offers check out: A:M Stills Everything you see there (and more) can be made with the $79 subscription to A:M. Mark used A:M recently to create this Arctic scene: Noah created some realistic images and anime: Kricket preferred Toon Anime: Dusan went for a classic stop motion look: The list of what A:M offers goes on and on and on... ...and A:M offers more than just the ability to create still imagery. It is called Animation:Master after all. A:M Films Quote

Admin Rodney Posted October 22, 2009 Admin Posted October 22, 2009 Of course some of us are just here to learn and enjoy the computer animation experience. Projects like 'Tin Woodman of Oz' and its sequel 'Scarecrow of Oz' are available: Here is an early rendering from the TWO film by Will: Quote
Admin Rodney Posted October 22, 2009 Admin Posted October 22, 2009 Of course A:M excells at Character Animation: (Extra points to anyone who can name all the artists represented here! No cheating... don't look at the film credits.) Quote
Admin Rodney Posted October 22, 2009 Admin Posted October 22, 2009 Gene... that guy is a machine... he's created what... 18 animated shorts since he purchased A:M last year? Obviously ease of use and a smooth learning curve are features! Quote

Admin Rodney Posted October 22, 2009 Admin Posted October 22, 2009 Animation:Master is still the best there is for rigging characters. Raf, Billy, Mark and David and Holmes (among others) are acknowledged masters in this area. They've provided complex freely available yet flexible rigs (TSM, Squetch, 2008, LiteRig) but in some cases you may be satisfied with more simple rigging. Quote

Here's what happens when you mix a talented artist (Jim) with an amazing program (A:M): How many features can you count there? Quote

Admin Rodney Posted October 22, 2009 Admin Posted October 22, 2009 Malcolm is 'Malcolm Zinzan'. Everyone knows him as 'Zinzan'. He's an talented artist that has spent much of his life in Deviant Art ''obscurity'. Others know of his talent of course... but we here don't as he doesn't hang with us here daily. This is the image most here in the forum might have seen and associate with him: Quote
Admin Rodney Posted October 22, 2009 Admin Posted October 22, 2009 ...and since we are on a D&D fantasy theme, here is another from Will: (Here Will is spoofing/recreating the cover to the classic TSR Dungeons and Dragons Manual) Quote

BaldEagle Posted October 23, 2009 Author Posted October 23, 2009 Rodney -- you do fine work. I use Max. I am in the process of making 3d caricatures of my family and a few politicians. I have the sketches made, but before I start modeling in Max, I thought I'd look around for an app that makes modeling easier. This is the reason I'd like to know more about A:M. I will also texture, rig and animate these characters. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. Quote

BaldEagle Posted October 24, 2009 Author Posted October 24, 2009 And the best Forum ever !!! My last question is: Is it possible to export files from A:M in a format that can be used by other 3D apps such as Max and Maya? My guess would be no, since A:M is spline-based not poly-based. Quote
