gazzamataz Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Well I could help posting this, I know a lot of you have already seen this model but I kinda finished off the texturing and the scene with Bella and Hannah. I was so pleased that I wanted to show everyone... who might be interested... even in the slightest... or who happens to click on this post by mistake... Quote
Mr. Jaqe Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 I liked your tree, it looks...treey. Almost like the one in Pochahontas Quote
NancyGormezano Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Absolutely a Terrific tree Model ! Wonderful character - like the idea of texturing - but feel like the texture needs more depth to suggest something more "barky" - maybe add a bump map for deeper darker, more defined creases in the texture.. Quote
Paul Forwood Posted January 28, 2005 Posted January 28, 2005 Oo, that's a tree with personality. Gazza! I agree that a bump map would help give the bark some texture. It seems a bit too skin-like at the moment but,Hey, this is a fantasy tree so who am I to say what it should look like. As it's a talking tree maybe it needs skin. Quote
gazzamataz Posted January 28, 2005 Author Posted January 28, 2005 Blimey, these are quick replies - thanks guys you've made my day Nancy You're quite right I haven't added any bump to the tree, I was so carried away with the intial impression that I quite simply forgot… I will add one later today for a re-rendering Quote
CreativeAustinYankee Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 Pretty good, the tree fits the scene very well. My only crit would be the inside of his mouth. It might stand out a bit more if you changed the material. As it is now, he kinda looks like he has bark inside his mouth. Steve P. Quote
starwarsguy Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 I LOVE HIM! Many times better than when I first saw him. Quote
mtpeak2 Posted January 29, 2005 Posted January 29, 2005 You can add a second instance of the material and set a bump percentage in its properties of the shortcut and both materials will match up. Looking good. Quote
hypnomike Posted January 30, 2005 Posted January 30, 2005 Looks great, a really professional piece of work! Quote
gazzamataz Posted January 31, 2005 Author Posted January 31, 2005 All Gee Fanks guys & girls, you've made someone who's enthusiam is waning a bit bounce back again CreativeAustinYankee As it is now, he kinda looks like he has bark inside his mouth. Yeah, I know what you mean. Thing is I didn't really know what the inside of a talking trees mouth should look like - I'll have to think about this mtpeak2 Yeah I knew this one, I just kinda got lazy and forgot to do it I will re-render it soon once I decide what to line the inside of the mouth with. NancyGormezano Posted January 31, 2005 Posted January 31, 2005 Perhaps inside of mouth should suggest "growth rings", and teeth might have touches of fuzzy green moss (from not brushing properly? - ewwww yucky) Quote
