  1. That's a good idea, I'm going to give that a try.
  2. Well now I feel silly. I made a simple choreography and saved it. I then did a "save as" and imported the first choreography. The two are independent. I've changed the camera and animations and they stay separate. (I didn't use any actions, just in choreography animation. So I guess if I do a "save as" for the actions I would get the same results. Thanks for all the input.
  3. Well that's good to know that I can do what I need to in AM. I'll post this project as soon as I get it done. Thanks
  4. Martin: Thanks for the input. I get what you're saying, but does your time line become really huge? That was another concern. Also, I've been reading about after effects. Does this program help in making the final product? ( I know I just started another topic) Thanks for the advice, I feel I have a better handle on this.
  5. Thanks Vern, that was the direction I was thinking it should go too. I don't know if changing an action in one will in another.
  6. Hi all, I have a question related to setting up a project. I'm building a set that will be used for three or more animations in different parts of the set.(different camera set ups) What I want to know is would I be better off to copy this choreography several times and set up my cameras for the different animations or just keep building off one timeline? I was debating because copying the three choreography's would add to the project size, but so would adding to one time line. I was also thinking that if I used 3 sets, I could eliminate (or hide) different parts of the set that were not visible to help decrease the render time. Just wondering what the "Pros" would do. Thanks Andy

    Hi

Think of the movie "What about Bob........baby steps" That helps me when I get overwhelmed.
  8. Ahhh...I'll try this again. I'm looking forward to the tutorials.
  9. I'm not clear on the installation. The directions talk about importing the model. Do I then drag over the "Bones" and "relationship" folder like I would on the 2001 rig? I'm going to sit down and review this again tonight. Also, I'm going to run Onyx on my computer for a clean up.
  10. Well the character is a "Bender" model. He is not too heavy with patches, until you get to the head. (no hair or materials on the model) I was just trying to resize the main bone and everything was moving very slow. I was going to do a restart and try again. What is a proxy version? Also, I noticed I need to remodel the arms a bit. When I put in the 2001 rig their was a lot of pinching on the shoulder. Nothing to do with the rig, everything to do with modeling. Thanks for the help!
  11. I've been working with this rig, and I think my old G5 is too slow for this. Everytime I move any bone, or resize a bone it is very hard to move. Is this rig only for faster computers? I know I have to update, but I hate to spend money!
  12. Nice start! How did you do the ground?
  13. Looks good! I'm using the web download. it's only $50 for the year.
  14. Very nice. You may want to model the battery pack separately for animation purposes.
  15. Robcat, You have some very nice tutorials. Do you have a posting of all of them? I've learned a lot watching them. Andy
  16. Thanks Al. I did some more tweeking, tomorrow I'm rigging this thing. I'm going to do the 2001 and the new SQ rig. I also tried the "Clay" type rendering that you posted, thanks for that, but the render time was going to be over 11 hours. Did I do something wrong? Maybe my G5 is way too out dated for this. Thanks again for the remarks, Andy
  17. I think I have it. The mistake I was making in the head was I was cutting out splines, and then trying to add a mouth spline. So I added the mouth spline BEFORE I cut out the extra splines and it was much easier to make the final adjustments. One picture is the head cut out the wrong way. A close up of the head, and the final body. I'm starting a "Clay" type render before I go off to bed. Thanks for all the advice, it was a big help. Andy
  18. His mouth does not animate. The wires in front of the back of the mouth move when he talks, and sometimes the whole back plate moves. Mike: Thanks for the tip. So I should make a mouth and connect it to the head?
  19. Thanks, Is there any tutorial for booleans?
  20. Yes, I keep forgetting to lock things down. I have to try that. I cut the mouth out of the head, and added the extra splines to make the rounded corner.
  21. Hi all, I'm trying to build bender. I have the body done, but I'm having trouble cutting out the mouth, everything bends around the curve of the mouth. Any suggestions would be of great!
  22. I'm using a G4 with 10.4, and I can't get the libraries to work on V15. My extra data appears, but not the library. Is anyone having this problem?

  24. You can get the one year script without having the program installed. You have to down load the Data zip, no charge, too. So far I like the download. If you average the cost you are getting almost three years of updates for the $49.99 per year. I think you only get one year's worth of updates for the $299.00. I also have nothing but good things to say about HASH's tech support. They have answered every email when I had a concern. It's a great way to try the program! Hope that helps.
  25. Ok, that didn't work. The modes appear, the CD extra appears, but the actions and materials do not.
