  1. Quick follow up question... In the graph that controls "opacity", the horizontal increments are the percentage % ... but what does the vertical increments stand for??? Thanks for any info..
  2. yes... I thought about what you said about changing things in the material window but I don't know how to set key frames in the material window.
  3. Adjusting the Sprite system worked great! .....but I was unable to figure out how to selectively fade out different clouds from the same emitter. I have attached a graphic to explain the question. The cloud on the right should be 50% faded out and then a new cloud is being born on the left. How can you get the new cloud to come in at 100% opacity while the other one is fading out at 50%. Many thanks for any insights!
  4. Many thanks! I will give it a try and let you know... and BTW- That MoCap looks intriguing. Definitely something to investigate🙂
  5. Hello Hashers- This should be a simple task (but apparently not for me)😄 I am trying to simply fade out a sprite cloud over 20 frames using the Sprite opacity setting in the choreography window. Attached is the simplest of projects. The sprites are dormant for 10 frames and then on frame 11 (only) 1000 sprites are shot out the emitter. Those 1000 sprites have their opacity set at 100% and then by frame 50 the sprite opacity is set to 0%. Unfortunately there is no opacity changes going on (as you can see from the video). Any suggestions are appreciated... (SpriteFadeOut .attached is the Project, the small blank white graphic for the sprite and the movie below) Sprites1.mp4
  6. [Mod Edit: this discussion from Live Answer Time is now split into its own topic] Might have a topic for today. How to stop "jiggling" cloth???? Jiggle.mp4 JiggleTest.prj
  7. wow, not only amazing looking but the sculpture of the vase is also excellent!
  8. Looks terrific...how long to render a frame?
  9. I'm off to test the new information...will let you know the results! Thanks for responding!
  10. The big red cloth worked from the beginning but the other objects (added with Simple_Scatter) did not react to the force because of the rule you just described. I will try making all the necessary objects with bullet constraints...
  11. The red cloth was simulating correctly from the beginning but the flat object that was loaded using Simple_Scatter stopped any simulations. When I made that object a cloth, those new planes then moved. The basic question is, do "forces" effect everything , or only things like ,Sprites,Streaks, and Cloth? If you created an ordinary cube, a fan would not effect it?
  12. I tried that and nothing happened but when I made the "Simple_Scatter" objects as cloth, I was able to get them to react to the force. So,the big question is, can a regular object be made to react to a Force? or must that object be turned into a cloth material, or into a dynamic object using the bullet system?
  13. Hello all- I was playing around with what I thought was a simple test. I had a red piece of cloth being sucked up into a vortex. Everything worked as predicted (see attached movie). I then introduced a simple flat object into the scene using the Simple_Scatter tool and wondered if those objects would also be sucked up into the vortex.. Well, nothing happened and no simulation took place. Hmmm.. wondering if I did not check or uncheck some box in the process... Any thoughts would be welcome. Tom ClothForce.mp4 ClothForceTest.prj
  14. Happy New Year Rob! Won't be able to check in with Live Answer today but look forward to a year of more enlightening tutorials! Tom
  15. Happy New Year Jason! Maybe they will hold Comic Con this year in San Diego! Tom C.
  16. Rob- Thanks for taking the time to make the video. It is much appreciated!!
  17. Looking forward to check under the hood of that rigging.
  18. Animation looks flawless!! Can't wait to see how you improved the strategy for achieving this.
  19. I have two good rigging questions if there is time. Squash.prj Ru-Cube.mdl
