higginsdj replied to johnl3d's topic in Tinkering Gnome's Workshop
Yep - thats quite cool. I can just imagine each iteration of Thom disolving over time...... Would love to see the project. Cheers -

Seems I cannot render my scenes to anythign but 'Final' without getting a "Failed InitBoundRenderInfo" error! Any workaround? Cheers

Hmmm, Can I install and activate both 32bit and 64bit versions of AM on the same Laptop with the same activation code or do I need to pay for a new subscription? EDIT: Answered my own question - Yes. EDIT 2: OK so I can render to QT but I have no Sorensen option. EDIT 3: Found it inside QT - enable legacy codecs. Cheers

Rendering to QT. For those of us with 64bit versions of AM on Windows and no access to rendering to QT what options do we have? I can render to AVI and then get QT Pro to generate an H264 movie (but no option for Sorensen)... Cheers

I'm with Robert - I can't see anything in these images.... Cheers

Wow, 25 years of A:M..... I think I started with A:M in 2000ish but have been away on a Bender (missing the 'L') and now come home to A:M. After such a long break (since early v16) and being 'confused' by other methodologies I think I will count as a newbie once more Just purchased by v17 subscription - now what to do Any projects going? Cheers David

He needs a donate link on his web page so that we can periodically donate to him...

You need to reorient/direct the spineabge to take advantage of the contours of your face. At the moment you basically have a grid. You want loops around the eyes, mouth and nose then larger loops around the face to match the muscle groups. This will make it easier to achieve the nice curves of the face. Cheers

Yes, I read a lot about this lag but on the 12" Cintiq I haven't detected it as yet (although if I make a very fast stroke it takes a split second for the pointer to catch up - but I'm not sure this is the Cintiq since it is difficult to match such fast strokes with the mouse pointer). I've used it with Gimp 2, Photoshop Elements 7, and ArtRage 3 so far. The drawing above was done in Gimp by the way. On the 12" there is a boundary area where the pointer is a little 'off' (about 1/2" all the way round) Its a jitter thing. The other thing is calibration. I find that pointing on the calibration spots does not calibrate the pointer to match the position of the pen near the edges. I have to experiment by touching up to 1/4" off the calibration points to get the pen to align well all over the screen (edge to edge)

Just take the original URL and replace the 11 with 15.. http://www.jostkeller.de/dreid/testing/Rhe...dRing151011.zip

Thanks guys. The cintiq is great but the screen colour on a mac leaves a lot to be desired. Had to run the adobe advanced colour setup just to get it close but event then it was 'dull'. Turning up the brightness just made everythinug redder..... Default colour seems much better on my Windows 7 Laptop. The 12" cintiq is an ideal companion to a laptop (except for all the cabling - interface box etc). If I could afford it (and if one was actually available), I would have got the 21" to complement the iMac. Colour aside, I find the cintiq a boon. I've had pen tablets for years but just couldn't get proper eye/pen coordination going looking at a screen while my hand was somewhere else. Now its all natural Cheers

LOL, we need a spell checker plugin

OK, I bought a Cintiq 12WX and the "Chaos and Evolution" DVD by David Revoy from another store (I liked this artists approach to character design) that covered off some different ways of getting inspiration using different software and a basic tute on drawing and colouring for character design. Now this is NOT totally original work - it is based on David Revoy's "Water horse" design with some bits and pieces changed (I only did the head) to make the character less edgy and more 'cute'. I'm hoping to model and texture it as well (in AM). Happy to get critiques. Cheers

Please remember that we do not all prescribe to the US date format. I read the deadline as 01 May not 05 Jan - year made it a bit confusing to Cheers

Thats quite good. Your acting choices are excellent but the lip synch needs some polish (and yes the fingers are a little stiff) Cheers
